About meI am a stay at home mum, married for 24 years and have two teenage sons. We live in Aberdeen, Scotland and have been here for 18 years. I love reading, when time allows and preferably before falling asleep at night!!! Since joining Bookcrossing and Book Club Forum my range of authors and books has vastly increased as have the amount of book shelves in our house, but this can only be a good thing. Feel free to leave a friendly 'hello' and I will get back to you.

About my libraryI tend to read family/relationship type novels. Have a host of authors I like and always looking to add more to my list.

Noticed you liked Lovely Bones, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it also contains a young female narrator struggling with a series of tragic circumstances. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Hi! Have sent you a friend request :-)
Hi Diane, sorry not to have replied before. Hope your family are well and surviving this very cold winter with lots of reading!
Hi Diane How are you. I would love you to be my friend on Library Thing. I don't post on BCF much now I am afraid. Hope to hear from you.
Hi there! Just popped in to say hello and add u to my friends list;) Hope you are having a great time on hols and come back well relaxed! Lol
Charm
Hi Diane, how are you? I have been so,so busy that I have not even been near LT. I have been reading though. I snagged an ER book, "Emily Post." It is quite good, very full of historical information about the Gilded Age and after. Lots of things I did not know about Emily Post, either. She was before my time but I knew she was the etiquette lady. So, what are you reading? I am really ready to be done with this book, it's a bit long. I want to read something lighter or something very untrue-I guess that calls for fantasy, sci-fi or a thriller? I read your review of "House at Riverton" That sounds good but does not sound or look familiar to me. Is that one of those books that is only on your side of the world? Good times only, till I hear from you again, Mary Beth
Hi ,

Just read your message that you left on here on the ninth. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply as I have not been on here since I got back from my hols on the 11th. I am well been decorating since I returned, the house is upside down at the moment! Been getting more books off Amazon but I am reading at a slow pace at the minute. How are you? Hope you are well.
Hi Diane, I have not been by to say Hi for quite some time. We have been very busy withour business, luckily, and I have been trying to do some writing also. Right now I am trying to read "The Wednesday sisters" for an essay or article I would like to submit to More magazine. What are you up to these hot days of summer? Hope all is well with you. What are you reading? Have you read anything that you would recommend? I am finishing "Pillars of the Earth" and it is very good, but I heard that the sequel"World without End," is not quite as good. On audiobook I am listening to "The TinRoof Blowdown" (I think that's it) by James Lee Burke read by Will Patton, really great, book and reader. Write back soon, Mary Beth
Hi Inver, not managed to get a copy of Playing With The Moon yet, I'll let you know what I think when I've read it. Hello by the way :)
Yeah I know I need more books, I also need more time to add them in! I'm sure it will grow soon enough!
Here's what I said on BCF
Playing with the Moon Eliza Graham
"Reeling from the death of their baby son in a car accident, Minna and her husband Tom take refuge in a lonely coastal village commandeered by the military in 1944 and only recently reopened to the public. Tom and Minna find the remains of a black American GI on a beach. He’s believed to have drowned in a wartime exercise, but Minna discovers that American troops only trained here months after this soldier died."
Great story but there is more than this tells you it jumps back and forward in time and becomes a story of a time and of coming to terms with things to move on.
Hey! Hello on here and the BCF!
Hi Inver. Thanks for the greeting.
Just wandering around and saying hello to people. :)
Hey,

Thanks for adding me to your friends list. I see we're both fans of Alice Hoffman. She sees the word in an amazing light.

There's a special place in my heart for 'The Secret Life of Bees'. It was given to me during a book tour from hell by my then editor at Harcourt US, Allyn Johnston. It was one of those books that save your life, or if not exactly that, then one of those books that make a rather trying period in your life better. I'd escape in between TSLB's pages each night in my wee hotel room, finding myself alternately weeping or nodding in agreement at the wisdom of the writer.

There aren't many books that do that for me. Another one was Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood. I read that one the week after my mum died. A book to save your life, I reckon. When you find yourself wishing fictional characters were your 'real' friends, the you know you're in trouble!
Thanks for joining the Fans of Alice Hoffman group and for posting, Inver. I just started reading Blue Diary, which I saw was your favorite. :)
