Iriesa, as much as college isn't about true training for a career, it is very enlightening. You will find yourself amongst like minded people that really want to learn. English Lit is incredible as you finally have the chance to have intelligent conversation about them. My daughter is also approaching college and it is the most important part of your education.

Irieisa, I saw your comment about school and not having any friends or interests there. I went through pretty much the same thing and yet, somehow, became a high school teacher myself. I just wanted to write to tell you that there are smart, interesting kids there, they are just harder to find because they aren't loud and obnoxious like so many of the other kids. In fact, they probably have their noses in books :). And you have college to look forward to, where the silly kids are weeded out. Keep your chin up.
