May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness;
May all be free from sorrow and the causes of sorrow;
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness which is sorrowless;
And may all live in equanimity, without too much attachment and too much aversion,
And live believing in the equality of all that lives.

Don't you dare do that Dianne! I found you Snow :) I love your library! Amy
Ah...the Cod-piece scene.
Makes me pee my pants evrytime I read it.

Have you ever read Katie MacAlister's "A Girls's Guide To Vampires" or "Noble Intentions"? (historical)

These are the among some of the funniest books I had read at the time and I still pull them out when I need a laugh. They retain their humor no matter how many times I've read them.
Hi there, nice to (virtually) meet you. I don't get to LT very often these days, but if you'd ever like to talk shop I hang out with a bunch of writers over at my blog, Paperback Writer. Have a happy, productive 2008.
I hate to say this, but judging from your posts and the e-mail that I get from you, have you ever thought of doing a book with a funny/caustic protagonist,add some murder, hot sex and some more comedy and some more hot sex, just to be on the safe side that you have enough to suit your readers *grin* ?

Sort of chick lit with a real bite, and a bunch of blood, murder and mayhem? Hey you can even model the main character after you and me...(snort) Ok you can stop puking now,I was just joking!!!
Ya know JC...I loved looking at the books you've recently added, who ever would have thought that you had such a romatic streak *wink, wink, nudge,nudge*
Doing OK. Thanks for asking. Sorry to take so long to reply. Busy, busy, crazy busy! At work, my boss' job is vacant, so I've been trying to cover for that along with two vacant positions that report directly to me. So a few days off at Christmas is all the gift I need this year!!

I hope your holiday season is everything you'd like it to be.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your recent message to me -- the one about how much you like to ride etc. I was so struck by the vividness. It seemed to me like a poem, so I went ahead and versified it. The following is word for word with only one change in punctuation. To me, it reads great. What do you think?

--------
I've always liked horses with a lot of flash
and fire...high heads and good leg action,
and lots of spirit under saddle.

I've done my share of training the green ones
to ride and there is nothing like taking
an untrained beast and turning him into
a class act.

My saddlebred is 16.3 hands
...a lot of horse, and that animal can
make you damn near weep from his beauty
when he moves out,

aside from the pretty moves.
I like to burn up the field with a dead out
gallop, as fast as a horse can carry me.

That's a lot of power to perch on and trust
with your life.
---------

I like it so much!
I've done tons of both internet and "real world" shopping *sigh* I'm surprised my credit cards haven't worn through.
I'm kind of supposed to be working on a third book, but I haven't really been writing like I should be. Mostly I've been doing more reading. And shopping, lots of shopping. Tis the season and all LOL
Did you get to finish your Nanowrimo book?
Now don't I have an unusual one???? And I haven't even put in some 500 books I have elsewhere in the house! Hey cool we share 55 books so far!
God, I envy you so much with your three horses, who sound just super. When I look back, it seems that we always had three horses who seem to correspond to your personal stable -- a superstar (usually a top-flight rodeo pony), old faithful (Ginger, a mare, held this status for many, many years), and just a regular everyday great horse. With at least one other who was bottled lightning, kind of like the Arabian you mentioned. And then there was "my" horse -- a little light chestnut Spanish Mustang named Fox who had grown up on an Indian reservation and wouldn't let anyone else ride him (without trouble) but me. Memories!

OK. I'll try Ms. Ward. After checking Amazon, it looks like "Dark Lover" is the first of the series. Is that the best place to start?

Thanks for the guidance.
Thanks for tagging my library, too. One of the many things I like about LT is the chance to meet other people with very different reading tastes. So far, we have no title in common. Yet I'm fascinated by your library -- especially your collection of vampire fiction. I have very limited experience with this genre, having only read the "classics" -- Stoker, "Interview", "Camilla". But I love vampire movies and never miss a chance to catch a new one. Can you give me some guidance on where to start, if I want to try to go a little bit further?

Oh, horses! One of the few species that God got entirely right. I grew up on a working cattle ranch and was in the saddle from a very early age. At eight, my job was to "ride fence" -- ride along, check to see where the barbed wire was broken, and report back to the big guys. When I was eleven, they gave me the tools to fix the fence when I found a break -- but I was still riding. When I was fourteen, I was set to buidling fences. No more riding every day. I got off the ranch as fast as I could after that.

I'd like to know more about your horses? Do you ride often?
I thought about it in October, was really planning to do it and then just lost track of signing up and getting into it *sigh*. I even had a story in mind to write. Next year! (which is what I said last year, but hopefully 2008 will work out better) Good luck with your story! Is it a paranormal romance?
Thanks for the friend request :-) Did you do Nanowrimo this year?
I KNOW isn't this a great place...I my just shut down B&C and play here for the rest of my life! I can't wait to see your library!
