Hey,

Just a quick note to let you know that my new novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available. Thought you might like it since it's been compared to Larry Brown, whom I noticed you like. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Take care,

Hi there ~ Haven't heard from you in awhile. How are you doing these days?
Jim, I hope this post finds you well. I read an article about Franz Wright online at the Washington Post, and I thought you'd like it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...
Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope you are well. Are you soon back to school? We start tomorrow.
Jim, your comments, suggestions, and advice are very useful: thanks so much. I have passed what you said on to the student. I believe it will greatly affect his thinking and help him to bring together his own thoughts. You're fantastic!
Jim, I have a request for information. I am advising a young BFA student who wants to do his honors thesis on poetry performance. He wants to focus primarily on John Berryman's performance of his poems; however, at the fringes is hovering a question of why so many poetry performances are really bad. How did it get to be this way (bland, boring). Do you have any idea about sources that speak to the issue of poetry performance? Or poetry as a dramatic performance? Or oral vs. written formats? It seems to me you spoke about this, or something similar to this, here at LT or on you blog. Any information would be very useful. I like your new profile pic!!!
I made time, finally, to take another look for the poems on your blog. Love the one about the newspaper! I feel this way myself about newspapers sometimes, especially over the last few years. I used to have a yoga routine I did first thing on waking up every morning - but at a certain point I couldn't make room for that peacefulness while the morning paper was waiting on our dining table. I had to know ASAP what was going on, to make sure it wasn't anything too terrible, or if it was, to at least keep myself informed about it so it couldn't sneak up behind me. I expect I'll feel better after the next election, but that's a long time to wait!
Not so bad at all.
Greetings from a Haitian brother in Brooklyn, NY. I read your post on mental illness and writing. I must say, my friend, your mind is impeccable.
Greetings from another southern poet in Boston.
i understand. Thx for sharing it!
Wow -- what a BEAUTIFUL poem. i wish i had the ability to do something like that.
Hi Jim -- i read some of your comments on Theresa Williams' page. i also sometimes feel self-indulgent when i consider my own writing. When i read your post, my kneejerk response was that i hope you don't feel that way too! Do you have any writing you'd like to share?
Hi there Jim -- i felt a bit out of step with the nature/wildlife observations and was debating whether to post there. i'm glad you enjoyed it. Rather than debate whether or not i 'fit in' i'll be sure to post again when something else comes to mind. Thanks you so much for the encouragement!
I looked for your poems on your blog, but didn't see a link to them. Where can I find them? I'm enjoying your posts on Art is Life!
Gotta love that damn fatal rash. I'm just waiting to get it. The irony, you know, that a livesaving med will someday just up and kill me.
Thank you so much for your contributions over at Art is Life. I am enjoying them so much.
That was a lovely post you left over in Art Is Life - The South.
