About meI'm Irish, though that's more a love-hate-relationship, and a writer; according to Wikipedia I'm 'widely considered to be one of the most influential writers of the 20th century'. I guess I owe that to books as Ulysses and Finnegans Wake. Well, you can read more about what other people think about me right here.

PS: For anybody interested: I was born on 2 February 1882 in Dublin, and died on 13 January 1941 in Zürich.

About my libraryMy books, as listed in Gillespie's Inverted Volumes Improperly Arranged. James Joyce and his Trieste Library (Ann Arbor: UMI Research Press, 1980). I'll tag these IVIA. Unfortunately, only the books I owned in Zürich (tagged Zürich) are properly listed, as are the books I consulted for (tagged books consulted) and those I referred to in Ulysses. I hope that some day I'll find all those other lists of books!

Thanks for doing this. I just had a few questions about the library. Is the list of Joyce's Trieste library complete (i.e., are all the books listed in Gillespie's catalogue here)? Also, I saw the post from nmorris7 below, but do you know of any other catalogues of books Joyce owned? Lastly, you mentioned books Joyce consulted in Zurich. Can I just ask how you got this information and whether the same info is available for the National Library of Ireland, the Bibliotheque Nationale de Paris, etc? Is this info available online or how does one get it? Sorry if this is a lot of qs and you don't have all the answers! I'm doing a PhD on Joyce and would like to find out whether he owned or consulted various books, and, ideally, the editions he used. Thanks for any help you can provide.
You might also add Joyce's Paris library, now at SUNY-Buffalo, described in Thomas E. Connolly's "The Personal Library of James Joyce: A Descriptive Bibliography".
