About meI'm a British-born freelance writer now living in the Chicago suburbs. Yes, I still have my accent, even after being away from England for more than half my life. I'm a wife and mom, a Christian, a karate blackbelt and a really lousy ice dancer. I've had my nose in a book since I was four years old.

About my libraryI like many things: literature, especially 19th and early 20th century, mystery, history, religion, and theology. I also force myself to read outside my comfort zone from time to time. I love to write about what I read, and to introduce people to forgotten classics.

I hear you! My last desperate 'stuck in an airport' purchase was 'The Jane Austen Book Club' and didn't I regret that.
Yes, it seems that a lot of people on Library Thing agree with my analysis of The Da Vinci Code. I have made a vow to never pick up another one of his books - am I too harsh???? The recent hubbub about The Lost Symbol is tempting.....
