About meI have skipped, ran and at times spun in a circle around a 20 year career in marketing and public relations, starting out in magazine publishing then moving on to run online consulting businesses with my husband.

Now my daydreams through the home office window are to be put to good use and weaved into tales I hope will bring moments enjoyed through my children’s books.

I am in awe of the thousands of fearless authors and illustrators, who at some point were prepared to ‘have a go’, so it is in that spirit that I released my first early childhood picture book, ‘I Love You 5 Lollipops’ in early 2013 via Amazon and other online bookstores and selected bookshops.

Collaborating in creative relationships is one of the joys in writing for children. Whether working with other authors, illustrators or discussing story ideas with children, there is a deep level of trust in handing over your creative vision and asking others to invest their time in it. The path from inspiration to page is like having my best day every day, which will hopefully come through in the books I create.

I am looking forward to meeting and gaining insights from a wide cast of young readers over the coming years and I will be presenting author talks at schools, libraries and literary events.

When I’m not doing booky stuff and managing other online projects, my highly active imagination is also a base for creating over ambitious Christmas decorations, that never quite look like the picture, grand plans for our small but rather baron veggie garden, nerdy project ideas for my daughters’ homework and innovative cooking techniques to get the family to eat healthy vegetarian food. This usually prompts objections such as, ‘seriously mum, who puts lentils in bolognaise?’

I am lucky enough to live in Melbourne, Australia with my husband and two daughters and our cavoodle ‘Millie’ aka ‘The Worst Best Dog in the World’.

About my libraryA collection of personal and book club titles in no particular order and just because I happen to remember where I was when I read them. I am not inclined to review other people's work but rather how they made me feel at the time and how it integrated into my life.
