About meI'm a fantasy novelist who studies computers. Or maybe I'm a computer scientist who writes fantasy novels. It depends on how you look at it. I have always worked in the intersection between computers and the arts. For many years, I worked in the Hollywood animation and special effects industry, but now I am putting all of my attention on book tech: ebooks, enhanced ebooks, book apps, and yes, print books, too. I'm fascinated by the things that are happening in publishing right now, and being both a technology guy and an author, I'm right in the middle of things, exploring away, and happy as a clam.

Where's it all going? Technology is an inscrutible mistress. Maybe one day I'll be able to publish my books in pill form: you swallow it before bed, and then dream the entire book that night. Who knows? It's anybody's guess. But one thing's for sure: the future of books will be an exciting one.

Count me in.

About my libraryI read widely, but as an author, the majority of my reading is from the genres I work in - fantasy and science fiction.
