I received a book for Christmas you reviewed - Call Me Mrs. Miracle - and after I read your review I'm pretty sure I'm not going to read it as it would be maddening. Thank you for your honesty! I also have I Am Nujood, and agree so much with your review, re the layers of connections (or missed connections) between the girl, her story, and the book. Yeah, who the heck is the ghostwriter? It is mind-boggling that Nujood managed to get her divorce. And then ends up by her own choice back with her family. What's to stop her father from selling her again, or selling her into prostitution...not a single thing that I can tell. Tony Horowitz wrote a great book about his travels around that part of the world, Baghdad Without a Map. His description of a hospital in Yemen will ALWAYS stay with me! (Which is one reason I simply had to have I Am Nujood) And Geraldine Brooks also wrote an amazing book, Nine Parts of Desire.
