...and tell Mom your LT payment should be considered a school expense (research, etc)...
My profile picture is a photo of me during WWI, coming out of the Army post bookstore. They had a great sale!
Actually, I found that on a Banned Book Week website, but I have no idea where it originally came from or what it means -- it could be Farenheit 451-related, but if you look close the guy is grinning...

Yes! Read Wizard's First Rule. And the rest of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, for that matter. Those are the most amazing books EVER. I don't think that I was the one who recommended them to you before, but I certainly agree with whoever did.

When I have more time, I'll think of more suggestions and let you know. Would you primarily like fiction suggestions?
Hi Jessica,

I agree with MrsLee that the Christianity Today article about The Golden Compass is balanced. I posted twice to my blog (http://greenroomthoughts.blogspot.com/20... and http://greenroomthoughts.blogspot.com/20...) about TGC before reading it, and am now in the process of reading it.

EB
I would recommend all three. But, of course, if you read the first and don't care for it, then I'd say you probably wouldn't like the others, either.
here's a link with some other interesting link on the books and the controversy:

(hope that works)

I read the 1st book, thought it was cool and in no way contradictory or hostile to my faith...
