About meI have been providing book reviews and recommendations to family and close friends for over 50 years. As my friends and family started using social media, they began sharing my reviews and recommendations on-line with their friends and family. This in turn resulted in my developing a following of individuals interested in my opinion of the books I read.

At the encouragement of these individuals, I started writing book reviews and posting them to different websites and blogs under a variety of names. Just recently, I decided to start a blog of my own. I still send out my reviews via e-mail to family and friends so have not yet developed a following for my blog. Once I get all of those currently reading my reviews weaned off e-mail and used to going to my blog, the number or readers should increase.

After high school, I studied nursing and worked as a critical care RN for 13 years. I got burned out so decided to return to college to see what else I could do, I ended up with a degree in engineering and am currently working as a Professional Engineer doing traffic design as well as being the President Elect for the local chapter of the Florida Engineering Society as well as sitting of the executive board of this chapter.

I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up so am working on an advance degree in anthropology along with taking classes in metalsmithing and jewelry design. I am also very interested in children’ issues so volunteered to be a Guardian ad Litem ("GAL") in the local Circuit Court. As such, I have been the court appointed representative for four children.

About my libraryMy personal library contains a little over 4500 books of which approximately 200 are eBooks. I keep only the books I enjoyed reading and those I may need for reference.

I enjoy reading mysteries, spy novels, thrillers, biographies, and technical books dealing with both natureal and physical sciences and engineering.

I started collecting antiquarian books about 15 years ago and have several first editions from late 19th early 20th century writers. I mainly collect old engineering and technical books along with books dealing with women's studies. I am especially fond of engineering handbooks.

When I became interested in metalsmithing and jewelry design, I started adding both digital and paper copies of books on this subject. So far, I have over 125 books on this subject.
