About meI'm interested in all kinds of books, but I focus on world literature, classics and prize-winning novels. In between, I like to read detectives, mysteries, historical fiction and non-fiction.

My rating-system
Obviously, my ratings are very personal and subjective. They tell more about me and my tastes than about the book itself. And I notice it sometimes depends on the time and/or place if I rate a book higher or lower. So, in a way, my ratings are snapshots of my opinions at the time.

***** = excellent, fantastic, brilliant, unforgettable, a personal favourite
**** = enjoyed it very much
*** = rather liked it but not much more
** = did not like it but I finished it because I was hoping my perseverance would be rewarded in the end (which it didn't)
* = did not bother to finish

If I add half a star, it means it is better than the lower rating and has glimpses of the higher rating but nog quite.

About my librarySome books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested.
