About meI am a former public school teacher (high school special ed) and am currently beginning PhD study at the University of Delaware (Education). I have two masters degrees: one in Political Science (U of Richmond) and one in Special Education (McDaniel College.

Reading is my number 1 hobby. I am currently in the top 250 reviewers on amazon.com and I write reviews like some people play basketball. I receive advanced copies from the amazon vine program, as well as several other outlets (including, on occasion, from individual authors). I just love reading!

My other hobbies are: enjoying wines, playing and watching tennis, and blogging on my blog Education Philosopher" and on a group blog called Liberty and Reason (http://libertyreason.wordpress.com/) I also love listening to jazz.

In other words, I am a N-E-R-D.

About my libraryMy library tends towards nonfiction in the areas of philosophy, education, politics, psychology, science, etc.

One of my favorite authors of all time is the philosopher/psychologist William James. Other than that, my favorites change way too much for me to write them down in cyberspace!

This looks interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_e...
but I'd really suggest that you look at something more foundational to start with. There was, for instance, a two volume set of Penguin/Pelican reading books in the 70s entitled Economics Of Education: Readings ed. by M. Blaug that had a lot of fundamental readings in it. The West volumes I suggested also have a lot of this sort of thing in them, but these Penguin/Pelican reading books had a wider focus.
Dang. Got it wrong. That is Sheldon Richman or Sheldon L. Richman, not Steven Richman.
