I am hoping it won't, but that is asking a bit much. I have been collecting books for over ten years now and have quite an extensive library for my children, but I hate to think of all of the books that may be lost to future generations. I have heard so many conflicting comments about this new legislation. Some say that it does not effect the resale market and that I will still be able to get my books though BookMooch, Goodwill, and yard sales. Others say that it effects all books published before 1985. That is a lot of books. I know some homeschoolers that are trying to hunt down older books now and have bought quite a lot through Amazon lately. Others are just hoping it will all go away. I think that a lot of books will be traded and shared amoung homeschoolers when this starts to effect us. I know a lot of angry teachers, librarians, and homeschoolers that are looking at this as a mass book burning. How are these books dangerous? They are read, not eaten. Are my children's eyes damaged by reading the words on the page? The entire thing is simply ridiculous. It's another example of government overkill. They aren't listening. We don't want products we buy to poison us, but I also don't want to be told what I can and can't read either.
Thank you for commenting on my profile. You've got quite a library there.
