About meWhere to start... I guess I'm working hard to become a hands-on polymath, if that makes sense. My interests are rooted in both the cerebral and the physical. I love my library and know that I'll never tire of learning. On the other hand, part of me needs to do physical work that results in something concrete. The picture of Rambler and me is in the Canadian Rockies, where my friend has a guest camp that I visit as often as I can to work building things, learn about horses and mules, and most of all feel alive in a beautiful place.
About my libraryIt's pretty much dominated by science and mathematics. My background is Electrical and Computer Engineering, but time and interest have expanded things well beyond those topics. Chaos, complexity, analysis, dynamics, signal processing, algebra, number theory, fractals, neural nets, genetic algorithms, wavelets, QM, QC, QComp, pervasive computing, and more are there in numbers.
Non-science is mostly history, classic novels, and authors like Borges, Kafka, Stephenson, Tolkien, the Russians, Eco, Dick, Manguel, and so on. Goodness, I need to get reading!
