Hi Lisa.
Thanks for the invite, looking foward to chatting with you. I'm still getting used to the system and listing my books slowly since I have so many it takes a lot of time although i just ordered one of the ISBN scanners so maybe that will help as i'm only about half way through.
Katie
Hi Lisa.
I just wanted to drop you a note and say that I really enjoyed your story in Hallowe'en Husbands. It is exactly what I needed to get me in the holiday spirit (little pun), a sweet ghost story. Thanks.
Velma
Hey Lisa,

Thanks for the invite! I am thrilled because I just finished the Hallowe'en Husbands anthology and LOVED your story in it! One of my critique partners commented on the anthology and mentioned your story in particular!

I am an aspiring writer, working on my second book and trying not to let the DDJ (dreaded day job) make me crazy.

My first book - a Regency romantic comedy - was a Golden Heart finalist this year. My second book is a WIP and it is a Regency Gothic with a touch of the paranormal. Slogging away at it to try and finish it in time to get it in the Golden Heart.

Can't wait to read your next one!
Lisa,
Sounds like you have been very busy!! 2 books! Are you taking some time off to read or are you already hard at work on your next book? Thanks for the heads up, I will look for both.
I just finished (and loved) The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. If you are looking for a nice sweet quick read it is a winner.
Melissa
Hi LJ.
Thanks for the friend invite. Yes we have some good ones in common. Now I need to check out a few of yours that I don't have. By the way, I loved The Matchmaker.
Velma
Hi Lisa!

Thanks for adding me to your friends. I've been well and I'm so happy to have found LT. I don't know why I didn't join sooner. I'm already addicted.
You too, I didn't even know we were capable of doing this, lol.
Lisa,
How's the book coming? Are you making any time to read these days? What have you read lately? I just finished (minutes ago) Elizabeth Berg's The day I ate whatever I wanted. I love her writing, but some of these stories made me sad. Maybe I'll read up Let's Misbehave next for a pick-me-up-read. What do you think?
Melissa
Hi Lisa! Thanks for the invite. I must confess I'm still trying to get acquainted with LT, so I haven't been able to use it for it's greatest potential -- discussion and meeting people. I have one of your books in my library, but it's in my TBR pile. I'll have to move it to the top:-) Your covers look like such fun, and I love fun in my reading!

Denise
Definitely books are one of life's greatest pleasures.

Happy holidays to you and your family :)
Sorry I've been a while replying to your invite, what with work , degree and my three year old, life's a ball! Thank you for the invite, I promise to be more diligent in the future.
Thanks for this invite! It does seem that we share a good amount of the same books. I am part of a Book Club so, we get some decent reading diversity suggested. I will have to check into some of your books, they seem quite fun :o)
Hello! It's good to meet you too!
Hi Lisa!

Thank you for asking me to be one of your "friends". How exciting for me! and what a great way to get others who might not be familiar with your works to become aquainted with them. Im excited to go on the hunt for some of your books and get to know more about you through them.
Thanks so much for the comment, sorry it took me so long to reply, I hardly ever check my library thing anymore...I know, I know, bad Dylan! =) But I love reading romance novels and thanks for the invite! Happy Reading!
Thanks for the invite, sorry it took me so long to respond! I haven't logged on in awhile but was pleasantly surprised by your message :).
Thanks Lisa - Nice to meet you, too.
The history of magical creatures sounds like a fascinating study. My own passion is for Arthurian based materials -- I am a sucker for almost anything written around that tale/legend. It is interesting to see how various authors portray essentially the same characters and events. Similarly, magical creatures, dragons for instance, range from foul-smelling, evil tempered, treasure hoarders to the telepathic, fire-breathing, world saving dragons of Anne McCaffrey's Pern. I would be interested in knowing how you intend to work them into your novel -- but you do not have to let out any secrets -- I can read your next book.

Good luck and good hunting!
How goes the research? Do you find you keep getting sidetracked into other, less relevant, but intriguing, by-paths?
As you can probably tell, I'm new to the list. I'm not sure what being a friend entails, but if it's a way to find out about new books/authors, I'm always open. I work full-time at a law firm and I probably won't get on the site as often as I'd like, so don't be offended if I don't respond for a while.
Lisa I am really bad about checking for comments. Sorry about that . Thanks for the requestand yes we do have ally of books in common. Hope to hear from you soon , Linda.
BookMooch is a great place to get rid of books you don't want anymore and to get books that you do want to read. The only thing is that sometimes when you search in it, the book you want won't come up. That's when you need the ISBN number. I like to think of it like this:

If you're like me (meaning CHEAP), you get four books for the price you would pay for one new one in the store. And it helps save trees. :D
No problem Lisa - thanks for asking. :-) It's nice to meet you as well.
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the add. I am going to check out your books, they look really good!

Rose
Hey, thanks for the invite! I'm looking forward to reading your book.
Hi, Lisa, and thanks for the add! I'm a member of an online book service (booksfree.com (a contradiction as they're NOT free ;)) because our town's book selection is very much lacking, and I searched your name and found a lot of your books! :) Don't know which I'll start with, though.
Hi Lisa, thanks for the invite. Which books specifically do you find interesting? I am always curious about these sort of things. Cheers, Britta
Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the invite!

Patti
Hi Lisa! Thanks for the friend invite. Though I haven't put it in LT yet, I actually bought Let's Misbehave a month or so ago and thought it was a really cute, fun read. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of your titles. It also looks like we've got some favorite authors in common, so I look forward to checking out your collection.
Hi Lisa:
Thanks for the invite. I'll have to check out your books!! The search is on!!!
;) Beachnbook
Thanks for the invited. It is fun being a teen librarian. I tend to like a lot of the same things as my teens so it fits. I just looked at your catalog and now want to read some of them.
Thanks so much! It's neat to see an author on here - especially one whose book I have, LOL!
Hi Lisa - glad we're friends now! Have just asked one of the city bookshops here in Dublin to order a few of your books!
Hi Lisa, thanks for the invite! Working in a public library is fun. It's the best job I've ever had - I get to talk to people about books all day, how cool is that? And working with teens, helping them figure out that reading doesn't have to suck and can be fun if you find the right books, pretty much rocks.
Why thank you Lisa. And thank you for adding me as a friend.
Hi Lisa, your my first friend in LibraryThing, thanks for inviting me!

I've just been looking at your books you've brought out, they look really good, congratulations! I'll have to have a read of them.

Ive only got 330 books in my book collection but I've read a lot more than that, I used to keep a list just using microsoft word but it got accidently deleted.

Thanks again for the invite, keep in touch.
Take Care
Shirley xx
Hi Lisa :)

Thanks for the invite. It's great discovering new authors! Your book covers are adorable, by the way. I'm off to check out your library...

Tina
thanks to you Lisa. It's always a pleasure to have new friends. elisa
Lisa, thanks so much for the invite! It's inspiring to connect a real person with the book on the shelf, so I'm excited to make your acquaintance. Thanks!

Ashley
Hi, Lisa.

Thanks for answering my note. Good to know that I am not keeping you from creating another novel. Congratulations on finishing another book!

Although I started working in the local public library at age 14, I am now, sad to say, head of cataloguing for Statistics Canada's library and thus seldom see anything at work which would be of interest in this forum. Do not get me wrong, I love my job because of the people, the varieties of materials and because I love to catalogue, but I seldom read the books we get there. Did you know there are statistical techniques known as the jackknife method and the bootstrap method?

Like you I have another collection not reflected here -- I have about 1800 books catalogued and only another couple of bookcases to go. I read with great pleasure about the varieties of materials you collect and read for research -- research was always my favourite part of school. Somehow or another, the finished product was never as good as I envisioned it at the research stage, though.

I particularly enjoyed most of the books in the Slightly series by Mary Balogh. Some of her other works can be a bit tiresome.

Enjoy your free time. How long until you have to buckle down to the next book?

--Susan
I can't help going "Oh, wow!" A real author wants to talk to me. As a librarian by trade, I have a huge respect for anyone who has the imagination to create characters and situations and the dedication to put it on paper (or a computer screen). At the same time, I had some trepidation about answering -- thinking that I was taking your time which could more valuably be spent writing (part of) another book.

If you do have time to answer, I would be curious to know what your basis for reading/collecting is. For the most part, your collection seems to be contemporary novels rather than regency/historical or the current craze for supernatural (vampires/werewolves, etc.). A couple of the authors (i.e., Jane Green) are unknown to me. Do you collect what you prefer to read -- as entertainment or current awareness -- or do you collect novels by other authors that you know?
Hey Lisa! It's great to meet you, too. I am so glad I've found this site, it's so much better than trying to keep track of my books in a notebook, and I get to make new friends. Can't get much better than that! Jennifer
Hey Lisa :-) Thanks for the invite ~~ we've got some great books shared between us.

Devonna
Hey thanks for the invite and sorry for replying late, but I haven't been on this site in a while (Was busy buying new books). And thanks for the congrats on the story. Heh, didn't get paid for it but it was still the best day ever. ttyl
Thanks for the invitation. I checked out your website and I will be on the look out for your books!
Thanks for the invite. It's good to meet you.
Thanks for the invite Lisa. It's very nice to meet you as well. Also thank you for wishing me good luck with my writing and my eager pursuit of obtaining a career as an editor...God knows I need it. ;)
Hi Lisa. Thanks for the invite. I'll check out your books now!
Hey, thanks for the invite! I adored your book Mad About Max, and I definitely have to read more! So cool to hear from an author I've read, it makes me feel half-famous myself.
Thanks for the invite! This is very new to me. I have about 1/3 of my books in so far, am working hard on getting the rest of them in!
No problem. Thanks for the add! Good luck with the new book. Hope to see you post in the group.
Nice to meet you too!
Glad to meet another Meg Cabot reader!
Ah, A Crusie fan after my own heart!
Hiya, thanks for the invite, must look out for your books

Ellie
Hi, Lisa! Thanks for the invite.
Thanks for the invite, Lisa! :)
I've got quite a number of your books - you may have noticed that - and I've really enjoyed them.
Thank you for inviting me to be a friend. I really do have to look at your books.
Hi Lisa, thanks for asking me!
Hey Lisa, thanks for the friends invitation. I've been checking your book out at Amazon. It looks really good!
I have read all the Sedaris I could get my hands on. I love listening to audiobooks. Somtimes I pick books that are fun and light (Evanovich) and sometimes I pick books that I am pretty sure I would not read (Bill Bryson's A short history of nearly everything). I loved Bryson's book. You should try it on your next road trip...

M
Hi,

You're welcome - you have some great books too. It is strange seeing books i have with different titles and covers - where are you from? I'm in the UK.

Have a fab weekend.

Thanks for the invitation to be a friend Lisa :).

DS
Hi Lisa! Thanks for the friend invitation. I must give your book a look!
Lisa,

I write reviews for an online used bookstore that focuses on Women's Fiction (lots of romances). I just thought you might interested in the review that I wrote of Let's Misbehave. Here's the link to that specific review.

Or the link to the homepage of the site:

Have a great weekend!

P.S. I just bought some more of your books the other day, I look forward to reading them!
If you ever have the time I would love to hear what you are reading, and what you are enjoying (not always the same thing...). I just finished Landing, it was a sweet love story, but slow moving. Good luck with the book.
thks for the add ^^ nice meeting you yea...
I've been looking for some new authors, and after looking at some of your books, methinks it's time to get to the bookstore!
Hey, Lisa! I'm happy to be your LibraryThing friend! I've never read any of your books, but I've heard good things about them and I'm definitely adding some to my TBR list. As an aspiring author myself, it's always interesting to "meet" publish authors. I hope you have a great week, as well!
-Marcia
Thanks for adding me as a friend. :) Your request made me remember how much I loved reading Mad About Max. Two thumbs up for you!
You're welcome. I hope you like it. We have a great time!

CC
Thank you for asking me, Lisa. I am a big fan of historical romance and have enjoyed your Westerns. The Drifter and The Scoundrel are two of my favorites.

We would love to have you join our "Romance From Historical To Contemporary" group. As of today, we have 402 members, including several die-hards who post almost every day. We have some great discussions, and needless to say, my TBR stack has exploded with all the good recommendations.

Thanks again!
