About meI love reading and blogging about books. I also enjoy cooking and trying new wines. I enjoy my quiet time, my job and being with friends.

About my libraryI love to read southern fiction and stories about family. I also enjoy historical fiction and some Chick-lit and mysteries. I'm not big into romance novels and my least favorite genre is fantasy, although I do enjoy a little bit of magical realism from time to time.

Noticed you liked Mudbound, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more before you commit:

Hi Lisa - I haven't yet read Joe, but it is supposed to be very good. I also like southern writers. I'm now reading The Lace Reader and trying to beat a library deadline since it's on reserve for someone else. Good to hear from you - stay in touch, Pat (wearing moccasins as I write, of course :) )
Hi Lisa, Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment :) The Secret River is a fantastic book...I can't believe I let it languish on my TBR mountain for so long!

Hi Lisa - so glad you enjoyed Mudbound. I read your blog - didn't realize you are such an accomplished and professional reviewer. Good job. I have another book to recommend that I loved - The Condition by Jennifer Haigh. This is her third book and so very well done. It's about a family with two sons and one daughter, and the daughter has Turner syndrome. I feel like Haigh's publicist, but she is well worth reading. Hope you enjoy it. I'm wearing my moccasins as I write. :) Take care, Pat
Lisa-thanks. I would love to be your LT friend. I think it's only fitting that two moccasined bookworms are friends. I just finished "Mudbound" by Hilary Jordan and thought it was excellent. What are you reading now?
Hi-I just read your review of The Year of Magical Thinking. I found it so insightful and heartfelt. It is a book that I have been meaning to read for quite awhile, and I enjoyed reading an account that wasn't a reiteration of all the professional reviews. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, which seem dead-on to me from all I know. By the way, there is a wonderful place in Ocala where we always stop on our way to watch Phillies' spring training that sells moccasins. I am an addicted moccasin wearer and love this little out-of-the-way, interesting shop.
KinnicChick and Lisa - Great to meet up with some fellow blogging friends. See you around the blogosphere!
Lisa, Hey, I know you! How fun to see a familiar face, and to be able to hook up outside of 'blog world'. I'm new here too (although not as new as you). I'm still adding books to my library and that will take a while.

Thanks for the friend invite!
~Lisa
Hi there Sunday Salon newbie. I thought I'd connect out here too, since we are both fellow newbies over there. Something else we have in common! I heart LT...
