About meThe daughter of an airport architect, I was raised a Global Nomad with childhood homes in Caracas, Tehran, Tel Aviv, and New York. As a child, I routinely haggled for trinkets in dusty bazaars, explored archaeological ruins, and ate the traditional foods of five continents. I developed a deep affection for the timeless delights of the world, the landscapes, cityscapes, languages, and cultures which, for me, inspired a sense of curiosity and wonder. And I became a Third Culture Kid. I read books and watch movies to learn how the world works, to perceive from different perspectives, and to understand people of different cultures, when I cannot travel to their homeland myself.

About my libraryAbout TCKidLit & TCKidFlicks:

I have recently started collecting and reviewing books and movies that feature Global Nomads/Third Culture Kids (TCKs) as major characters. These may be fiction or non-fiction works, but they all focus on the Global Nomad/TCK experience. This is different from travel-writing and books about grown-up expatriates, because the people living abroad are children – for whom the experience of living abroad is, or quickly becomes, their way of defining "normal life." The culture shock of "coming home" becomes their primary challenge.

Rating stars for my library are allocated according to how well I feel a book clearly and richly portrays the essential experience of being a TCK.
