Hello Tim,

Nice to hear from you. I hope the weather in Ireland is better than here in Sweden. It is supposed to be winter, cold and snow but it is +5 degrees C and raining.
The little village I live in is called Gustafs and is situated in the middle of Sweden. The district is called Dalecarlia or Dalarna in Swedish.

Thank you for the tips about Daniel Silva. I had never heard of him before but after having a look at his web page, I must say that his books seem interesting. I will try to find the first book in the series.

As for Swedish authors, Stieg Larsson has written three books and all of them has been very well received by readers all over the world. Sadly, Stieg Larsson died before finishing his fourth book. I read in the papers that his relatives have decided not to ask someone to finish it so we have seen the last book from Steig.

You asked about Ian Rankin. He is definitely on of my favourites and I have all of his books. Most of them are signed, first editions. I envy you because, in Rankin’s books, you have a lot of marvellous reading undone.

Regarding where I get the time to read all the books, the simple answer is I don’t. I have the same problem as you; I can’t resist the temptation to buy interesting books. At the moment I have about 200 books unread. Unfortunately the books by Ken Bruen are among them. So I have to wait until later before I can discuss his books with you.

George Bellairs is another of my favourites. He is a rather obscure author who wrote more than fifty mysteries between ca 1940 and ca 1980. His books are old-fashioned and somehow cosy but I like them very much. If you have the time you can search for him in my library. Devenish who is another member of LT told me about him and he has written several reviews of his books. By the way, Devenish has more than
11 000 books registered on LT.

I will add you to my interesting libraries and I hope we will continue discussing books and authors.

All the best,
Bengt
Hi Tim!
I appreciate the "Interesting Library" designation. It seems we both are drawn towards the Books about Books genre. Is that what prompted you?

I see you are in Dublin. My family is from Galway. I spent 2 weeks in Limerick (or "Stick City", I'm told) a little over 3 years ago. Do you happen to speak the native tongue? If so, I have a question or 3 for you.

Based on your profile picture, you've got a LOT of cataloging left to do!

Regards,
Mike

Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime.

Hello Tim,

I am very honoured that you find my books interesting. So far we only have ten books in common, but seeing the kind of books you own I am sure there are several more to come.
You have a lot of great authors in Ireland. As you can see in my library I am collecting Ian Rankin and several others.
Have you read any books by Swedish authors? I can recommend Henning Mankell, Hakan Nesser and also the Norwegian author Jo Nesbo.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the books in my library. I would also appreciate to discuss authors and books in the future.

I believe Ireland is a very interesting country although I only been to Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Bengt
