About meI'm an unhealthy lover of books, but I'm also a teenager. None of my friends really read, so I just wanted somewhere that I could talk about books and not have a "is she really our friend?" silence. Other than reading, I love watching movies and listening to music. I eat way too many sour gummi worms and spend most of my time during the school year studying- I'm kind of an overachiever. My favorite thing in the world is summer vacation or just holidays in general, and I have a job at a bookstore, which everyone tells me is the perfect job. Because they would know, right? My new goal is to not waste too much time on here!

About my libraryI don't own all my favorite books, and I don't like every single one of the books I own.

I've been thinking of you. I finally finished FOREVER IN BLUE, while giving myself a maternity leave, and I saw the SOTP II movie too --slightly disappointed by both, but still, a good way to wrap up the series; and I'm sure I'll still buy the DVD when it comes out. My baby arrived July 1. Her name is Aivia (eye-VEE-uh); we call her "Ivy." Don't have much time to read anymore, but I try to make time for at least a few minutes of fun reading every day; it's my best therapy while learning to be a mom and trying to finish my dissertation. ... What are you up to this academic year? ... Haven't read FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS. Was it good?
Hey Emily! I haven't heard of that book but I will totally check it out when I come back from France. As far as graduation goes, well, I'm glad it's done. The last few weeks have been crazy. But don't worry, the next year will go by so fast. Just make sure that you make fun memories. I'm going to UW-Eau Claire for Speech Pathology. I hope this is the major that I'll graduate with but you never know what can happen in the future. How's the book coming?

Stefi
Hey Emily! I would love to be friends! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, I just graduated so I've been busy getting ready for the party and stuff. It's so cool that you work in a book store! I would love that. I also like to swim but sour gummi worms make me sick. My mom used to bring those on every roadtrip and I would get motion sick and she would pull those out so now the smell just kills me! It's been so long since I've read a really good book, do you have any suggestions?

~Stefi~
Sorry I've been out of touch. I'm only on here after I finish reading a book, which happens only about once every three months now, as I write my dissertation and prepare to give birth to my first child, due July 11. ... Have you been able to read more of LIFE ON THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR? What else have you been reading? What's new at the bookstore? ... I just finished reading an excellent book, THIS COMMON SECRET: MY JOURNEY AS AN ABORTION DOCTOR by Susan Wicklund. I got to meet her and have her sign the book at a reading she did in L.A. three months ago. I immediately started reading the book afterwards --inspiring and life changing!
Sorry for the delayed response. Haven't been on here in a while. Hope your holidays were good.

Have you read LIFE ON THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR? (It's in my library). I can't say it's the same style as Brashares and SOTP, but I enjoyed how it, like SOTP, portrayed the teenage protagonist as having to deal with real, adult issues ... not just dating woes. .. And it's a very quick read. (I read it from cover to cover while standing in a book store ... and I'm not a fast reader).

Just finished reading RAISING RAUL for the second time. (There are few books I read more than once). I can really relate to it. It's an old book now (came out in 1999), but you might give it a chance. (I just added it to my library).
Oh, no, do not be fooled! No will power when it comes to me and books! The three to four half-read books on my bedside table are only a small fraction of all of the books I have left to read. And I bought some of these books many years ago! So, please do tell me a little bit about LAST SUMMER. I obviously have it all wrong. ... I'm sorry it wasn't as good as you'd hoped.
Thanks for telling me about the fourth SOTP. I'll have to get it soon ... well, after I've finished the three or four half-read books on my bedside table. :) Last Summer... by Brashares is what I meant when I mentioned the memoir. I thought it was a memoir. ... Is it not? Have you read it yet?
I think the 10th Circle--because it was the first one I read! And, I think she was doing some cool, original stuff in that book, even if the ending was a bit unbelievable. I haven't read Sister's yet, though everyone tells me that's her best one, so I'll have to do that and get back to you. Right now I'm reading The Last King of Scotland. I saw the movie last week--it was great--and wanted to read the novel it was based on. The book is wonderful--really wonderful writing.
Hi--Thanks for the email. I like Jodi Piccoult, but, you know, not as much as I like Tolstoy. What's your favorite book of hers so far?
No need to thank me. My pleasure ... Just sent the first three SOTP gift pack to a friend for her birthday. ... Have you read the fourth one yet? ... How is it? ... It will be a little while before I can get (to) it. ... I saw in the bookstore the other day that Ann Brashares has also written what looks like a memoir of sorts on her experience writing the SOTP series. ... Know anything about that?
i think though instead of buying it you should check it out from the library because i wouldn't buy anything thats not 5 stars =)
i cant really remember it since i read it last year, and that was quite awhile ago. but on amazon i rated it 4 stars so i definatly liked it. i hope that helps!
Thanks for adding me as a friend. We do have a lot of the same titles. Cool job working in a bookstore.
thanks for adding me lol! i am pretty awesome if i do say so myself. we had a lot of books in common soooo i decided we should be friends.
thats why its there- no worries :)
