About meI'm a secretary by day, writer by night. I have a small number of stories, novelettes and novellas (horror, erotica and dark fantasy) that have been published in the past four years (my full bibliography is on my website). Right now I'm writing a quartet of industrial/urban dark fantasy novellas, and doing research for a series of "Victorian Lovecraftian Clockpunk Dark Fantasy" novels. I'm a graduate of Clarion '06.

About my libraryI've had to move quite a bit over the past 20+ years, and my library has always taken a hit, as books are expensive to move. However, I also see my ownership of books as very fluid, and I've given away thousands over the years (I work in publishing, so I do mean thousands), to friends, libraries and various charities. I don't have a lot of books left, but the ones I have are the ones I cherish the most (for the most part - there are a few dogs, I admit). What I've cataloged is what I currently live with, and the rest (maybe 2-300) are in storage at my parents house. Those uncatalogued books are for the most part history (ancient/medieval), cooking, childrens/YA, costuming, and a few more acting books. My goal is to own 3000 books - if that number was good enough for Pepys, it's good enough for me.

I'm very slowly tagging my books "read" and "unread" - my goal is of course to read everything I own. Cue laughter here. :D

I have blogs on my website (see below) and a more personal one on Livejournal. I'm also on Flickr, where I pose many times with my beloved and dearly-departed beagle, who also loved books - she thought they tasted like chicken. :P

The above portrait is really me: it was created by the brilliant Nasubionna.

"Everyone gets the life they deserve."

I KNOW I've read that line somewhere, because I wrote it down in my little notebook I carry around with me. I can't remember the source of that quote -- do you? Help me out here, because now it will drive me nuts!

I was doing a search for something, and I landed on your LibraryThing bookshelf and I'm not sure why. Anyway, you have an intriguing selection of books.
You write just about the coolest sounding fantasy ever. I study Victorian literature and read my cthulhu when I should be doing otherwise. You're my dream combiner!
Where can I find some of it?

Also, I am going to tear through your catalog and request most of it at the library :)
How is your book coming along?
Well, my book count took a sizable hit when we moved out of the roomy midwest. I've had to be much more ruthless nowadays. :P

Love the artwork of you!
Read anything good lately? Any new vampire stories?
Do you have an interest in Eco or was the purchase of "The Name of the Rose" more transitory? I bought it because I missed it (I enjoy detective stories with some substance), but now I've fallen into its intellectual labyrinth. It coincides with my philosophical interests.
Oh reading a funny book...read 100 pages yesterday. It's a book called "Vamped" by Sosnowski. Very cool!
? no idea why it was being glitchy.... but glad we sorted it out..

nice to meet you! :)
Oh hey thanks so much for getting back to me. I'm trying to read "Blood and Chocolate". I just picked up 2 other books & threw them away away after a few pages or so. I have to be pulled in right away...like w/The Historian for example.
Hey there! We've got 110 books in common -- pretty neat!
It's hard to find anyone else who even knows of the Lady's Not for Burning, let alone owns it. Thought I'd say hi to one of the people who does. ^^
Wonderful collection....looks like you stole a few favorites from my wall!
