About meI'm a somewhat dissipated Gothic gentleman, having reached the age where black hair dye is no longer just an affectation. I enjoy live music, horror movies and burlesque. Key formative influences include the Carry On films, 70's Paul Raymond mags and Punk Rock.

About my libraryA place to catalogue my collection of naughty books, and to post reviews of titles I think deserve to be better known amongst those of us who care for such things.

Thank you! I like to think it is large, heavy, swinging, with lusty ni... tips... on most everything. :)

Ah, you got yourself some Magnus! He's a huge favourite of mine and it always makes me sad he's so obscure in Anglodom. This one is very much recommended:

Your interest flatters me, Your Lordship, many spanking thanks!
Many thanks for you felicitations (and your interest.) The seasons greeting to you sir, and to all you hold dear.
I admit to having been baffled by your message until groovykinda put up the link to the current price. I'd been looking for any of the set ever since I read your glowing review of the first volume - they seemed to list around $70 plus. Then on Christmas Eve I found one (VG) on Amazon.fr for EUR 5,22 (EUR 16.21 after shipping). Once I'd ordered it, I remembered to cross check elsewhere (bit late, of course) - which is how I encountered the two copies on Amazon.ca for under $7 (plus as much again for shipping). Oops.

Still, I seem to have got a deal - although the current price of $3717 is, of course, crazed. Perhaps the lows on that site were the result of an equally unintentional electronic price war. So it goes ...

Cheers - and a Happy New you to you and yours!

Yeah, "The Divine Duty of Servants" is not worth your time. It's written by a frustrated, closeted fetishist and wannabe academic who's really bitter about being a high school librarian. So he tries to bolster his paltry writing skills by quoting long passages from other people's work and footnoting his own writing so extensively it's almost comical - practically screams "I want credibility!" It makes for a very bizarre mishmash of passages that don't string together in any logical way at all. Also? Not hot. Oh well.
Thanks for the interest in my library. I have always been fascinated by 17-19 century erotica.
Thank you for those links. I think I'll bookmark the Black Pearl series for later, when I get some money from the bookstore.
Maybe she helped him with 4 books, and just "misremembered" the correct number.
Thanks for the Deep Blue review, Lord B. Sounds like one for me; I slightly prefer Machen to HPL as it happens!
You are welcome, Lord Bangholm, thanks for adding me also.
...though there's nothing like a real book!

Amen, brother. But where we gonna put them all?

Thanks for the IL nod, though I wasn't fishing for it!
Stumbled upon your profile through one of the erotica threads. You may be interested to know that Internet Archive has some antique electronic editions of some books that look to be up your alley. I have links to them under my tag "flagellants".

Maki
