About meThe Louise Brooks Society (located at www.pandorasbox.com) is one of the largest and most popular websites in the world devoted to a silent film star. The LBS was founded in 1995 as a fan-site, and over the years has evolved into a comprehensive on-line archive and center for "all things Lulu."
The mission of the Louise Brooks Society is to honor the actress by stimulating interest in her life and films; by fostering and coordinating research on her life, films and writings; by serving as a repository for related material; and by advocating for the preservation and restoration of the actress' films.
The LBS is interested in anything and everything to do with LOUISE BROOKS as well as the Jazz Age (the movies, books, theater, music, fashions and popular culture of the 1920's and 1930's). Our motto is something Salman Rushdie once said, "To understand just one life, you have to swallow the world."
About my libraryThe LBS LibraryThing is a collection of essential books both by and about the actress - her life, her career, and her films. This collection serves as a reference to those interested in finding out more about the actress and her best known role, that of Lulu. Also included are related works of literature, biography, and film history, as well as photoplay editions and books which feature the actress on their cover.
