About meLuddite Geek resides in Northeastern USA with a wife, daughter, dog and cat. He works as a design engineer for a small manufacturer of passive electrical components. He received his B.S.E.E. from a well-known technical university and has worked in the electrical industry since 1982. His Myers-Briggs personality type is iNfP.

About my libraryMany of the fiction books I enjoy tend to poke fun at technology in some way. Favorite authors include Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Bill Bryson. Sometimes I will get hooked on what my daughter reads, such as the Erin Hunter "Warriors" series. And before that it was Rodda's Fairy Realms series.

My non fiction choices include computer books (learn HTML/CSS, Lisp, Visual Basic, AutoCAD, Emacs) or commentary on how technology alter our social landscape. My wife is an avid reader of biography, and I read the more amazing ones, such as Walls' "The Glass Castle."

Thanks for responding. My book is actually a novel (fiction) not a biography.
Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Most of the books I list in my LibraryThing profile I don't own. Instead, I either borrowed them from the local library, or I bought them and then donated them to the annual library book sale. So I may be adding a new tag along the lines of "I own this" to indicate those books that I do still have in my possession.
One thing missing from LibraryThing is the ability to maintain my own blog right in my profile. But considering how I barely have time to post to my other two blogs, this might not be a bad thing.

Still I'd like to have public announcements, so I figured I'd bend this comment space to my will.

I've added the tag "currently reading" which I add to any book(s) that I've started to read and haven't finished and given up on. It results in a handy link that I can put on my Blogger blog in my "Reading List" section.

I'm excited about getting selected to receive an Early Reviewers copy of "Guilty by Reason of Stupidity," by Joel Seidemann. I like the title, and the description sounds promising. This will be my first ER book, and I look forward to writing a review for it. I don't sign up for very many ER books -- just the ones that closely fit my reading preference.

All the best!
