Beste Lunarreader,

Vriendelijke groet,
Gust
Hello there. Hope you are well - its been a while.

Anyway - Metroland I was irritated by the pomposity of the narrator/author and I found it difficult to sympathise with his problems and issues. In part this may have been to do with how I'm feeling in life as much as to the do with the book - in a way of was envious of his place in the world as upper middle class etc. Not sure if any of that makes much sense.

Justine
Hey Lunar,

Jeroen
Ah. Die had ik gemist. Succes ;-)
Geen 12-challenge dit jaar? ;-)
Have a nice trip you lucky man!
Hallo,

Bassani, Ginzburg,Calvino,Malaparte,Baricco,Magris, Pirandello,Veronesi enz...

Vriendelijke groet,
Gust
Hello. Nice to hear from you. All is good here in London. I hope you like The Earth Hums in B Flat. I still have one of your recommendations on my pile, A Plague of Doves, which I hope to find time for this month.

I have reviewed This is How in my library (not in my 1010 challenge though). I thought it was well-written but very bleak. I'm going to try another one of her books. I would say that if you didn't know the author was a woman, then it isn't a typically female book at all and I wonder if that is why she uses her initials rather than her name.
Yes, I did get This is How through the Early Reviewers progam. I intend to start reading it today so will let you know what i think later in the week.
I didn't finish my 999 , but I did finish my NaNoWriMo :-) It's not ready for publication though :-) You'll probably never get to read it, just as 99,999999% of the world population. It's kind of crap, but I like it. Don't know if it will ever be ready for print, but I'll let you know if it is ;-)

As for my 999: too bad, I just missed an Australian book. I lost interest somewhere in november. I won't be doing a 101010. Too difficult. I'll off course follow yours :-) Good luck, and all the best for 2010!
Thanks.
I did not know about this book, but now I have ordered it from amazon. Looking forward to read it.
hi Lunar,

i just went to over to the 999 challenge compiler and chose those who had something close to an "author" interest...perhaps there was something in ur post which struck me somehow.

we will be happy to have u in the group even if u decide to just be a lurker at first :-) see u there!

It means: "One of the most shameful book of last years", did u read it? I think its terrible. Bye Blim
