Hi Luxx,

I see that you own a Kindle. My book, The Book Traveller will be FREE to download on Friday 6 January and Saturday 7 January 2012.

I should be delighted if you would download a copy for a future read and perhaps review it on LT and Amazon for me.

Nice review of the Wharton book. She was such a surprise to me. I've lost your thread and am following you from the friends link on my home page.
I'm happy to send the book along to you. No need to pay for postage or to send it back. Send it along if you have the chance.

I hope all is well with your little monsters.

Love
Linda
Loved the picture on Richard's thread!! You look as much fun as your posts. : )
That's great! I hope you like it, whether you read it now or save it for later!
:)

Hi Luxx! I just saw on Stephen's last thread that you not only have an Oscar Wilde signature tattoo but you also named your KIDS after The Picture of Dorian Gray and the man himself. And I just had to stop by and say that that is the COOLEST FRICKIN THING EVER! Dorian Gray is possibly my favourite book of all time, and I always said that if I have a son one day I'd name him Dorian. Or Byron, but that's a whole other brooding anti-hero... YOU ARE AWESOME, LADY! :D
Oh hey, I meant to post this before but then, errrmm, forgot. I see how you are using the stars on your profile here, if you wanted to use the 1/2 sign here is the url:

Merry Christmas to you my dear. I hope you have energy to sustain the holidays. Be good to yourself and rest when you can.

I love you dearly

Linda
And a Merry, if slightly gothic, Christmas to you and your wonderful, growing, family.
Hi Luxx,

I noticed that you did not like Swan Lake as much as I did. I'm sorry recommending a half-clunker. But hey, I am here to redeem myself by recommending a Jeff Strand novel called PRESSURE.

Cheers HHF

I love it!!! And ... loving the *blonde woman* look on you I'm glad that you stopped by. I'm setting out to track your current thread down. Wish me luck.

Thanks so much! I've been scarce around LT these past couple of weeks, so I might have missed it on the thread otherwise. Much appreciated. :)
You are welcome!

Hi There!

Congratulations on your hot review listed on today's home page!

Me too...although I think I recently figured out why I prefer long hair. It gives me a way to sort of hide, I feel so out in the open with short hair. Plus, getting my hair cut requires me to go to a barber shop, where the always insist on trying to make conversation. *cringe/shudder* I've considered numerous times just buying my own trimmer and buzzing my hair off every few months or something, to avoid the dreaded barber shop... :(
Hey Luxx! I saw your comment on my picture. Unfortunately, I actually got it cut a few days after that picture was taken... I prefer it at about that length too but, it's a real pain to take care of, so I usually get it cut when it gets that long. It's just more convenient I guess. *shrug*
Thanks for your very cogent review of Charlaine Harris' "Dead in the Family." Your comment that she wrote this one like she was answering questions posed in fan mail hit the nail on the head. I was *so* looking forward to this and it is a chore (I'm still reading).
Luxx - I didn't want to fill your thread up with this, but thought I would just mention that my youngest son had a lot of trouble with eczema when he was around 1. We tried everything the doctors recommended, to no avail. Until I *read* one day in a Dr. Spock book an off-hand comment about eczema being a possible result of food allergies. I started paying attention to cycles of it breaking out and what he was eating and started taking things out of his diet accordingly. By that time he had patches of it in just about every area of his body, but with the diet changes it went away entirely - unless we slipped. It wasn't an easy diet, especially in those days when there were so few alternate food options, but it worked. We had to give up most grains except corn & soy (rice, wheat, oats, rye, spelt, etc.), peaches, tomatoes, bananas. Seems like there were more, but I can't recall them if there were. There's probably a lot more available over the internet than we had access to then - and living in rural New Hampshire didn't help matters at the time. After about a year we started re-introducing things and he was able to tolerate them all by then. The triggers are different for everyone, I know, just thought I'd mention it.
Thank you Luxx and to you as well. I hope that 2010 brings you everything your heart desires of it.
What a lovely picture of you and your babies. Just precious.
I couldn't help but notice that you have added some Grafton's to your library. Reminded me of my 34 year old daughter (I daycare her 2 sons) who reads and loves her books.
Hope to see you on the threads.

That's sure true! So, if we were going to do it, what would you suggest for me? I have very strong opinions about what I like/don't like. B.
This is a great profile....
it made me smile just to read it!
Thank you for the heads up on Borders...
I may have to try to get out there today:)

Hi There Luxx

You look ever so pretty in the photo. When is your baby due? All good wishes to you!
Luxx

Many thanks for your kind birthday message! It is a joy to know you!

Hey there my new found friend!~!
Thank you for your response. I appreciate it
and will let Mark know your preference.
It should be fun either way we go. The group
reads usually are.
You will be hearing more as the time draws nearer
and again I thank you Luxx.
Did I mention hot Pix up there!~! You look very
sophisticated.
hugs,

Hi;
Mark and I have been discussing the possibility of another group read in November and want your input. We have narrowed it down to two books at this point. "The People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. So chat it up with friends or us and let us know if you are up for it and what you think. Probably the same plan as with "Pillars of the Earth" which seemed to work out perfectly for almost all of us.
Think it over and give one of us a shout.
hugs and looking forward to hearing from you,
belva
I have yet to read Carmilla, or Varney yet. I'm still getting around to reading the some of the classic vampire lit.

The Sonja Blue series is a bit more serious than Anita or Sookie and it's a bit of a different take on vampires than either of those.

I'm sitting here trying to remember what my first vampire book was, and I'm fairly certain it was The Silver Kiss as well. I read it when I was 12 though. I also read Blood and Chocolate right around the same time which led to a similar interest in werewolves.
Alright now I'm curious, do you have a favorite vampire book or series?

Mine is Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series.
Nancy A. Collins' Sonja Blue series and Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series are pretty high up on my list as well.

I've been thinking about reading both the Harper Connelly series and the Lily Bard series, I've been unsure whether or not I would like the Aurora Teagarden series. I do seem to have a inclination towards books involving the supernatural, though I enjoy many different genres and subjects.

Thanks for the feedback! You have a great library.

BTW, your book-themed nurseries are beautiful!
Hey Luxx, I was wondering which of Charlaine Harris' series you like best so far? I've only read her Sookie series so far and I've loved them. Judging on your ratings you loved them quite so much. You seem to rate books a bit more harshly than me though, I'm far too lenient in my ratings.
Sorry it took so long to accept and respond. If you keep up with my thread on the 75'ers page at all, you'll know I haven;t even been able to touch a book in almost two weeks. Too much work invading my free time. If I'm not reading, I'm not LT'ing either. In any case, thanks for the invite!
Welcome to the 75 Books Challenge group. Thanks for joining in!
Friends don't seem to be allowed yet, so this is the only way for you to see me. I've only added the books I currently own. I'm trying to remember all the books I really enjoyed when I was younger. Except for the "Sweet Valley High" series... in reality, I should be punished for ever reading the entire series. In my defense, I was 12 or 13.
