Noticed you liked The Virgin Suicides, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hi Lyn, Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries. I have added you to mine. I see that you have the new Virago modern classics hardbacks, aren't they lovely? I liked them so much I had to get rid of a few duplicates!

Hi Lyn, I only just realized you'd left a comment on my page (I never received my email notification of it, which is probably why I missed it before), so my apologies for a belated response. I understand having too much to do to read as much as you'd like. I was in 3 weddings over nine months in 2006-2007, and it gets exhausting quickly. I also hoped to put a dent in my TBR pile with the challenge, but it hasn't quite worked out that way. Rather, my TBR pile has expanded (a LOT), and I've only read 7 books this year that were purchased prior to the start of 2008.

Amsterdam: honestly, I didn't love it at first. I think part of the reason for that is that I saw the ending coming almost as soon as the main thrust of the plot was set. And I followed it up with The Memory Keeper's Daughter, which I honestly found to be quite depressing, and not in a good way (thus making for two depressing books on top of each other, and that didn't do anything for my state of mind). But now, six months later, I still think about Amsterdam. It's not my favorite McEwan, but I think, when everything is said and done, I did enjoy it. I haven't read as much of him as I would like; I've only read Amsterdam, Atonement, Enduring Love, and On Chesil Beach, but I own the rest and plan to read them sooner rather than later.
Hi, Thank you for adding me to your interesting libraries. I appreciate that and we share some really good titles so I look forward to popping back and seeing your library develop.
Cheers

LynCollett,

Go ahead and steal away. The tagging books into collections idea didn't originate with me. I learned about it by reading some of the posts in the Talk section.

Of the four books we share, I've only read Ex Libris (loved it!) and the Poisonwood Bible. The other two books are on my ever growing "to be read" list.
