About meI'm a volunteer, a lover of children's literature, and a librarian-in-training.

About my libraryOnce a month, volunteers from Metropolitan Community Foundation (the social justice arm of the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco) read aloud to classes at Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy, a local elementary school.

Using granted funds and individual donations to the program, I purchase about 100 picture books each year to be read, discussed, and then added to the school's classroom libraries. Selections must be age-appropriate, interesting to the children, and themed on diversity/tolerance. The partnership promotes literacy and character education and provides each class with an additional adult role model for the full school year.

I will maintain records of books that have been donated to HMCRA since I began selecting them. I will also import the Amazon wishlist I use for the Read Aloud Program.

**These books are not available for circulation or swap, but I appreciate title recommendations.**
