About me So many books. So little time.
I primarily read mysteries be they disguised as legals, thrillers, cosies, &/or etc. I don't believe I've ever read a mystery I didn't enjoy for some reason. I have a list of "favorite" authors.
About my library My library will be a bit different then most. For a number of years I have given up "owning" books. I still keep a few books that are considered classics & I can't imagine my home w/o filled bookcases, but I perfer to use my local library.
Since 2000 I have been keeping a Reading Journal. I read so much I found that I was getting the very same books time after time. At this point I was still purchasing books. It was a major frustration to go to relax w/my recent book only to find that I had already read it.
I started keeping a Journal of books after I had finished reading them. I use a three-ring binder w/ruled lined paper like those used in school. I write on the right side only. There are times I use the left-hand side to make notes of various things. I list authors very casually by alpha. By that I mean that Steve Thayer will be found somewhere under "T" depending on when I first read him. I try to leave room to list all present & future books by a particular author. But I've made a few mistakes so occasionly an author can be listed on more then one page. However, no matter how many different listings I may have per author I do make sure there is a cross-reference identification.
I will be listing "books read" on this Library Thing. I will list the title, author, copywrited date & date I finished reading the book. Very seldom will I make a judgement about a book unless it is exceptionally good reading. Since I began I believe I've marked only three books in such a manor. I may decide at a later date to change my mind about that. Who knows?
I'm not a typist so it will take me forever & a day to get this list cranked out & of course, it will never be complete. Eventually, I do look forward to exchanging dialog about shared readings & perceptions.
Hope to chat w/you soon.

I was unaware that I did name Vince Flynn as the author of the "prey" series. If I did then I was mistaken.
You were totally right to bring this up.
Thanks
John
