Hello, just wanted to say that I saw your favorite album selections and very much agree overall especially with the majesty of Making Movies. And I've always preferred Blue Train to all other Coltrane as well, though I do enjoy Lush Life too.
happy reading and happy listening, Floyd
Love the name. One of my favorite novels.
Hi, welcome to LT. I stopped by because I saw your post in the Your Favorite Album thread. Good taste in music, and also (clearly) in books, from your user name.

Cheers,
Dani
Hi, I saw your comment on "record Collecting" thread - welcome to Library Thing.

(And I love your user-name...)

Your comment about "...and a bed" put in mind of one of my favorite quotes:

the New Yorker profile of John Zorn
( June 14, 1999) by Fred Kaplan:

" Zorn’s apartment consists of an entrance foyer flanked by
two small rooms, in which every inch of wall space is covered by
shelves, sagging with the artifacts of everything that has influenced
him as a composer: twenty-five thousand LPs and seven thousand CDs;
two thousand books of art, philosophy, history, and literature; and two
thousand movies on video or laser disk. The only pieces of furniture
are a mattress on the floor and a small desk, where he composes.
Once upon a time, there was a kitchen, but it was ripped out to make
room for more books and recordings. Lacking a refrigerator, Zorn
either eats out with friends or has his meals delivered."
