Just celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary with a very patient man who doesn't complain about having to build me more bookshelves at frequent intervals. Mom of three wonderful kids and a pair of adorable house rabbits. Quilter, gardener, antiques collector. About my libraryPrimarily historical research books for my writing and other useful non-fiction in areas of personal interest like science, epidemiology, space, and travel, with a handful of my favorite fiction just for fun. These are all books physically in my possession (though I have started a wish list of books I want to read); my goal is to keep better track of what I have so I don't start acquiring second copies (which is just plain embarrassing). Cataloguing is still ongoing; I haven't gotten to much of my fiction yet, though I finally did my cookbooks after a year and a quarter here. :) Groups18th-19th Century Britain, All Things New England, Almack's, American History, Ancient History, Anglophiles, Archaeology, Birds, Birding & Books, Booksniffers, Bostonians —show all groups VenuesFavorites Favorite bookstoresWhere the Sidewalk Ends Homepagehttp://www.marissadoyle.com Also onFacebook Real nameMarissa Doyle LocationMassachusetts Favorite authorsNot set Account typepublic, lifetime URLs

I notice from your library that we share an interest in epidemics.

Sorry for the long delay in answering. I've been pretty consumed with pre-publication stuff. Funny that you enjoyed the character Katherine. As we find out, she attended an all-women's college named, er, uh, Fernhurst. Yeah, that's it... Fernhurst. Two Katherine chapters are set there, and we'll see whether a gargoyle falls on me if I show up at reunion after the book release.
Do you find the idea of marketing your own book as cringe-inducing as I do? Oh, for the good old days (if they ever existed) when publishers did all that! Any words of wisdom to share? ~A

Congratulations on the success of your novels! They look awfully fun.
Lovely library. Off to browse your books on epidemiology-- a favorite topic of mine, too.
Best wishes,
Annemarie

You're welcome. I've gotten over the embarrassment of being male and liking Georgette Heyer and some other romance writers; too old to care what people see me reading any more.
