About meHaving a degree in special needs with a minor in psychology as well as a master's degree, I have spent my life as an educator. Except for the time I worked at John Hancock, I have either been in a school library or a public library. Since I graduated in 1972 from college with little prospect for a teaching position, I kept myself busy by volunteering in libraries. Also, I used my time to serve the public as a library trustee(two terms) ,forming a disability organization ergo becoming the chairman, historical commission and the senior center as a volunteer,an emplyoee and currently the secretary on the Council on Elder Affairs and serving on many commissions at our church including the librarian for the parish. Being the librarian for the church has led me to this group. To make the library more user friendly,we have decided to list the books in our collection online. If it is possible, I would like to use this site for the church's library collection as well as have a personal site.

About my libraryI am the parish librarian for St. Joseph the Worker parish in Hanson,MA. My pastor asked me to start this library in 2007. Our library would be considered a small library so I use the dewey decimal system. The books are shelved with tags to make it easier for the parishioners. Our library has a page on the parish website which lists the various policies,a screen for essays on books and authors. There is a bookshelf in the church for book displays and a weekly write up in the bulletin. Of course, our library has strictly religious books both fiction and nonfiction.
