After a While

After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn
That kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child

And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way
Of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers

And you learn
That you really can endure
That you are really strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and you learn
With every good bye you learn.

Bruno is my married name. My husband is from New York and I don't believe he has any relatives where you are. But, that would've been cool if he did =)

No problem!
I have it set so that I get an email whenever I get a comment on LT. It is in the profile settings under 'Account' you selected 'email comments posted on profile.' It doesn't seem so necessary now that I'm on LT all the time, but I used to worry about missing an Early Reviewer batch. It is convenient, too.
Definitely! Also, if you decide you want to change your name here to match your blog, just email Abby and she can either do it for you or forward your request to the right person.
Oh, it can be super confusing, particularly when people don't have the same username everywhere. I still forget who's who sometimes, even with the people I connect with a lot.
First I'm sorry I'm so slow in answering this. I had a week or so there where I wasn't checking LT on a daily basis...need to get back to doing that vs twittering :)

It sounds like you have a houseful! I understand about being the psuedo mom...I'm like that with a friends daughters.

Now that the craziness has died down a bit, I can sit back and spend more time here. Twitter is great...but a black hole for time!
