About my libraryI don't own all the books in my library - I'm merely cataloguing them as I read them. Comments are brief "notes to self" on my main impressions after reading, and are not intended to be taken as reviews*. If any of my comments do give you food for thought, or put you onto a book, I'd love to know. I welcome any feedback but I can't really apologise for personal taste!

5 stars - Loved and couldn't find fault
4 stars - Loved, but found flaws
3 stars - Enjoyed
2 stars - Struggled with but got something out of it
1 star - Hated
(can't be bothered with half stars).

*I've decided to add some comments as reviews where the book has 10 or less, just to get the ball rolling, or if I felt strongly about it.

Hi Laura- You're right about the Mona Lisa--I've never been all that attracted to it myself. I suppose it's because it seems trite and overexposed. I've taken your recommendation and uploaded the lady with ermine pic--very lovely. I want an ermine, but imagine they're rather squirmy! I've decided to give up on my caretaking of cute little rodents. (over the years I've had guinea pigs, hamsters, and even a chinchilla) But I'm traumatized by the death of my hamster this summer and I dread having to explain it to my students next week. (this is the 2nd summer in a row that I've killed the hamster!) The wierd thing is I can't even explain the loss---one morning I checked Blossom's cage and she just wasn't there!?? hamster rapture? cats jimmied the lock?

Speaking of possible crimes, I see that you're reading some cool crime books. any recommendations? I've read 2 disturbing books this summer about high school shootings. Seems that you English have not suffered this terribly cruel cultural phenomenon like we have.
