About meGeek girl extraordinaire. Overachieving underachiever. Hardcore knitta, y'all. Blogger, zinester, anarchist, hair-dye abuser, more tweemo than you.

About my libraryI've been encouraged to read since I first learned, which was very early. Sadly, my mum convinced me to get rid of most of my children's books--good-bye, Goosebumps, good-bye, Christopher Pike. The books listed here are just part of my library. Most of my books are still at my parents' house. Also, I have a lot of books that I haven't read yet but I'm not listing them because I can't discuss them. Finally, my parents moved from New Jersey to Pennsylvania about five years ago. Sadly, several boxes of my books didn't survive the move. They actually fell off the truck! That was severely disappointing and has significantly reduced my collection. I wonder who found my boxes of books between NJ and Pennsylvania?
Books tagged as "boxed" mean that they're packed away at my parents' house.

Noticed you liked Clockwork Orange, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a group of violent kids (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

For Those Who Believe All Is Possible
by: Larry S. Chengges

There are no miracles
for those who doubt
their possibilities...

Whatever you may have believed;
whatever you may have done;
and whatever you may be
in your life -
It is not too late
to change course
and begin anew...

A fresh start,
a bright future
and the wonderful
peace that passes
all understanding
are yours for the taking,
now and forever more!
Yeah (in answer to your comment), I was always kinda creeped out by Oz as a kid--so Wicked confirmed my suspicions :). It's a dense novel (a lot of the political and religious stuff was expunged for the musical, naturally) and I'm still not sure I "get" 100% of it. But I like the way it made me think about political responsibility and the nature of good and evil actions.

I hope you likeBean Trees!

. . . about my library: what can I say? it's both a blessing and a curse. I sometimes fear that too much of my mental life is wrapped up in these concrete objects . . . I might be reduced to nonsensical babble if there was ever a fire or a theft.

Cheers, Anna
Hi Moxie,

Nice to jump over from feministing and visit you :). I see we share a respectable handful of books . . . I, too, am a fan of Barbara Kingslover (especially Bean Trees) and Gregory Maguire (have you read Son of a Witch? I think I liked it nearly as much as Wicked).

Happy summer reading!

Anna
