Glad to heat back from you...don't feel bad about the abandoning of this site. I just remembered it a few months ago and have just gotten back to it. I wish I were in Australia! It's winter here and super cold! Sping should be coming soon though and I'm really looking forward to it! Plus I graduate in just four short months and I'm super excited! I can't wait to start college! How are things going with you and all of your friends?! Are you all still friends!?

Hi Casey. How exciting. I've not listened to many of their songs, but two of their songs are a couple of my faves. Can't remember what they're called though.

Have been busy with schoolwork as I took more subjects this semester, and am busy organizing a move at the moment to a new place, so will be packing boxes in a week or so to get ready for it.

What have you been up to other than school? How come Nicky and co. haven't been on? Everyone seems to have gone missing.

Hi Casey,

What a lovely message to sign on to. It's great to hear from you. It has been forever since we last chatted hasn't it? Sorry you had to go to a funeral. Whose was it? I hope it wasn't anyone you're really close to. What did you get up to on holiday? Did you go to another country, or another city perhaps? Hey I know what you mean by exams. I get really nervous about mine too. What subjects are you being tested on?

Things are great at my end. I had my finals the week before last so am on vacation now. Feels funny not going to college really, but I needed the break. It was a tough semester, but then I tend to bury myself in homework as I'm determined to never get below a B. As I'm not the type who can fly by with an A without studying, that means I have to work hard to get a good grade. I love college though and learning. It sure beats work. Haha.

Am going on vacation on Wednesday to Virginia for 12 days to stay with a mother and son who I know online, so I've never actually met them. We became friends back in December 2004 and have been good friends since then. They've been inviting me for years, but the flight was always too expensive. I lucked out though and got one for US$330 so snapped it up real quick. Anyway, I'm really excited. It will be my first visit to Virginia so I'm really looking forward to exploring somewhere new. I've never met anyone I know online before so that will be a new experience for me as well.

Jordan won Soundcheck so thank you so much for all your help. Jordan was over the moon about it. He's now in L.A. recording an album (although this has nothing to do with Soundcheck). Over the last year, especially during the Soundcheck competition, his popularity skyrocketed, which led to a him being noticed by an American producer, so thank you so much for helping him get the chance to be noticed by someone big. How have you been? I'm on spring break as of last night, but am trying to catch up on math homework and get ahead in other subjects, but am taking a day off to spend with my friend and also hope to get some reading in. What have you been up to?

The FINAL WEEK to vote for Jordan has finally arrived. It ends on March 28th or 29th (I forget which) and you can vote from as many computers as you want, but only once per computer per day. Hi Casey,

It's been slow going reading Shiver coz I was reading another book at the same time (just finished it last night) and am trying to do some homework projects in advance of the deadline so I can concentrate on studying for a test next week so we'll sort of be starting out reading it together really once you get it since I've not gotten far with it yet.

Jordan's still in the Soundcheck contest coz they added a part two to it in order to add another judge who's influential in the music business. Part two ends on March 22 and then from March 22-29 it's the final round which is the most crucial as it will keep Jordan at number one. Would you please help vote once a day for him? The link's at the top of my LT page.

Jordan's also entered into two YouTube contests and those links are also at the top of my page. You can vote every 20 minutes in those, which is cumbersome, but I do vote pretty often when I'm at home studying coz it gives me breathing room between math sums and whatnot. He was at number one for both and lost his lead so if you could vote in those, that would be great too - when you think of it though coz every 20 minutes is a pain. They really need to change it to once a day, or once per IP address for the whole contest coz every 20 minutes is loopy.

The Hunt For the Eye of Ogin (book 1 of The Winnitok Tales series) by Patrick Doud
The Secret of Lying by Todd Mitchell

Am not sure if you'll be able to get them for a while though as they've not been released yet, although sometimes books are re-releases so it's worth checking.

Hey I know what lots of homework is like. Have been buried behind a huge stack myself. Ha! Just had my first math test of the semester yesterday as well (we get several per semester) and I feel like I did better in this test than any of the tests last semester, so crossing fingers.

There's not much I can really say about my trip to England this last Christmas coz we hardly ever left the house and when we did, it was to get groceries or for me to help my dad get his presents (Christmas and birthday) in the local town. Apart from that, I never went anywhere. My mum and sister were both hobbling with a cane when I arrived and I don't drive in England so go with my mum to places. Oh wait ... we went into the bigger town further away once, but my mum's foot started to ache so we went home again. Not long after that my mum tried to get her car out and it slid into the hedge and my dad had to help her get it out so she didn't want to go in it again. Many people going by below my parents house got stuck there and ended up bringing pieces of carpet to put below their car to get it off the slippery bit which was like a skating rink. I ended up shoveling the driveway with my dad with a rake to break up the ice and a shovel to clear the driveway, which was really hard work.

I have Monday off from college next week (a holiday) so now's the best time to read a book with you. Am just about to start reading Shiver with mmd4 (she's a member of Bookmates too), which is about werewolves. Does that sound good to you at all? Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

Ooh, an Alice choker. Why don't you add a pic of you wearing it as your pic? Would love to see it. :) Perhaps you could wear your diamondn ring too. Sounds like you got some really amazing gifts.

Have had a lovely Christmas, mostly indoors coz it's bitterly cold outside. If I so much as put a toe outside I'm covered in goosebumps and my teeth are knocking together and it's supposed to snow 12 inches soon! Christmas day was spent with my family. My middle sister, niece and youngest nephew came over and then we opened gifts. The best part is watching my niece and nephew open theirs coz they get so excited. My parents are buying me a few things on my Amazon.com wish list that I'm ordering when I get back (the Angels and Demons DVD, plus some books - the sixth Sisters Grimm book, The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue, Angels of Destruction by Keith Donohue, The Great Expectations School: A Rookie Year in the New Blackboard Jungle by Dan Brown and Eclipse), plus I got a little fairy ornament in a jar from my sister and her children that's really dainty and lovely, a mermaid ornament, a nice top, really warm socks and some choccies.

My eldest nephew and his girlfriend went to Hong Kong (where I grew up) to spend Christmas with my youngest sister and just arrived back today so we did Christmas all over again today. It's more exciting in spurts coz it gives you even more to look forward to then, doesn't it? My sister in Hong Kong got me some lovely costume jewelry, a scarf, silk bag and other goodies all in pink and coral coz I love those colors, and my eldest nephew and his girlfriend got me a coral bag and coral purse to match.

Are you doing anything special for New Year? Will be quiet for me, spent at home coz it's so cold, but my parents' neighbors always let off a ton of fireworks that we'll be watching from my parents' bedroom coz it always has the best view of them.

No, I don't watch t.v. much. If I do, it's mainly documentaries or movies. There's been a lot of negative feedback since that aired, so I checked it out online and agree that it's inappropriate for young viewers. I've been really disappointed with some of Adam's choices actually since he hit it big time and feel that his sudden fame may be going to his head. I love his singing and showmanship, but he's turning off many of his fans, including me, by some of his choices. The video to go with his For Your Entertainment song, plus a big feature in a magazine early this month both portray him in a slutty way, especially the magazine article and I was expecting a classier image.

Am really disappointed with his new album as well. The music industry has been stagnant for a long time and I was expecting Adam to shake it up with some brand new sounds and an image to match. He has a great image and is willing to try out a lot of new styles, just like Madonna and Michael Jackson, which is why they've had such longevity in the business, but most of the songs on his new album are just plain forgettable. I love eclectic music, which I was expecting, but what I was envisioning was a mixture of glam rock, new age and some brand new sounds. What I've ended up doing is buying three of his songs individually from ITunes coz they're the only ones I really like, and For Your Entertainment isn't included since it's very Lady GaGaish (she wrote that one for him) and her music isn't my taste. I feel like he's made some really bad music choices in order to rush an album onto the shelves, which is a bad decision for your first album. Perhaps it will appeal to others though. It's number 10 on ITunes' album chart, but it's possible many of his fans bought it just to show support. I've not actually checked on what they really think of it.

Have you seen the New Moon movie yet? I'm waiting for the crowds to thin out a bit first, but am really antsy about seeing it. I can't wait. What did you think of it (if you saw it)?

Well I thought I had swine flu about five weeks ago coz I had it then too, but wouldn't you know it, I got it again. Now it's much worse and is actually one of the two worst times I've ever had the flu. I actually think I might have had pneumonia coz ... well ... not that I want to gross you out, but let's just say there's lots of yellow stuff. Have never had the flu this bad and have never had so much of the yellow stuff. It's really bad. Have gone through boxes and boxes and boxes of Kleenex.

Am staying at home sick today so I don't make everyone else sick. My voice is a croak as well and I start coughing when I try to talk. Because I'm so congested it's also hard to sleep.

Have been drinking even more fluids all night (couldn't sleep, but I slept yesterday afternoon so my hours are kinda mixed up now) and this morning and it's made a big difference. I still feel headachy and congested, but it's breaking up the yellow stuff so there's not much at the moment. I find going to sleep makes it all come back though. Gah! So I want to get rest, but then get all congested. *Sigh.*

Ok no more talk about the yellow stuff. I promise. ;)

Yes, it got really crazy there what with all the studying. I was literally working on homework from the moment I got home to when I went to bed. Worked solidly on my research paper for English Lit. for four days straight! Have one grade so far (an A for Child Development - woot), and hope to get my grade for English Lit. tomorrow.

What do gay rights have to do with nanotechnology? How bizarre.

Loved the Harry Potter movie. The special effects in this one are amazing. I wonder if the bird at the end is meant to be the phoenix. He's supposed to fly away, but the bird in the movie doesn't seem like a phoenix. There are some really funny bits in it, which you'll love. I wish the director had focused on the potions book though coz those parts in the book are really good. Lavender's perfectly cast. The island in the middle of the lake was strange. Didn't expect it to be made of glass. I don't remember it being that way in the books so wonder if the director was taking liberties with it.

So what have you been reading lately? I've finally gotten to an advance reading copy I got from Library Thing. There's a small pic of it on my page. If you click on it, followed by Description on the left, you can read all about it there. It's called The Dragon of Trelian. Am only on the second chapter, but it's really good so far.

BoolProp TestingCheatsEnable true = It lets you kill sims, make their career levels go up, change relationship levels and SOOOOOO much awesome things. Just type the cheat in and then right click on any sim and see all the options (there's at least 20)

Me too and yes, he's extremely handsome, especially tonight. He looked really beautiful. He came to San Diego on Friday last week for his homecoming and I went to the parade in his honor at his school. It was so exciting. If you look at the AI thread in Bookmates, I've added a link to my blog there that tells you all about it. They showed a tiny bit of the homecoming tonight so it will probably be featured tomorrow on results night. :)

It ends on Wednesday next week so I'll be on more then. :)

Haven't read the books yet that you mentioned (If You Could See Me Now and Where Rainbows End). They're on my mile long Must Reads list in my library so I will get to them eventually though. Need to update my page again regarding what I'm reading actually. Am reading the sixth book in The Sisters Grimm series at the moment. I love the series. Have you read it? It's a fairytale with a twist.

The last one sounds a bit odd so I'll see how I feel after reading the others first IF I can get hold of them. My library has a few books by him for children, but none of those. She's 11. I created a tag for her called "Recommendations for Elliemae" that's here: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/Hermee&tag=recommended%2Bfor%2BElliemae. Have added some for teens and adults to it with notes in the comment area, plus I've told her many are for adults as well. Since they're about the Holocaust, there's no way to avoid extreme violence, but if it's over the top for her age, I don't want to add those or ones that include sex/rape. Have added one with swear words with a note to the side that it contains swear words so she can avoid it if she's not allowed to or doesn't want to read books with swearing. (I don't actually like to recommend books with swearing to a child, but there's bound to be some books about the Holocaust that contain them.)

Once by Morris Gleitzman was referred to me by someone so I added it to the list. Are there any others he's written that you'd recommend for an 11-year-old?
