out on loan = someone else has it, and might yet for a very long time possibly approaching forever, but I still consider it mine.

mental library = I've read it, but may not have ever owned it, generally for reasons of finances although sometimes for reasons of quality.

Hi, NML_dc.

I notice you and I have a few interesting books in common--the one that surprised me was the Sean O Duinn book about Brigit, but there are 13 others as well. Although I guess with a library the size of yours that MIGHT not be so amazing. But mine is pretty small.

Anyway, thought a friending might be in order.

A question what criteria do you use for putting a book on LT?

Hi, just thought I'd drop by your page since you and I share 95 of the same books. Nice to know someone who has similar reading interests as I do. I still haven't coded in my entire collection. Maybe I'll get back to doing the rest some day. No doubt we share at least another 100 books together. Cya

I love your note on Tags, especially 'out on loan' and it's realistic assessment of probably never getting it back. I've had the same experience; I often wonder why it seems easier to get books returned from strangers than from friends. I just finished Clifton's Blessing the Boats, and look forward to reading her Mercy.
