About meI am a 40 something, single, Christian gal living in the Northern California wine country. I work as an Esthetician at my own skin care studio. I have a little dwarf Hotot house-rabbit named Patara who keeps me company. I'm pretty busy, and don't stop by Librarything as often as I'd like. At present I'm enjoying getting in touch with family and friends through facebook.

About my libraryI found out about librarything.com from a client of mine and am fascinated. Though I'm not an avid reader, what books I do own I have actually read. These are books I've choose to keep because they either struck a personal chord with me, or I've found them useful professionally. The idea of a vast library at home I admit is very romantic indeed, alas I haven't the finances, space, or the commitmented habit of reading regularly. I do however like the idea of being able to share with others who have similar tastes & interests, and perhaps make some new friends.

I have to ask, how did you end up with a copy of Georgia in the XI-XII Centuries? I was shocked to find I wasn't the only one on librarything with a copy, after purchasing it in Paris last weekend.
Thanks so much for your help on The Snow Queen...I was finally able to find a copy with the help of another LibraryThing member....It WAS reprinted in 2002, but apparently went out of print pretty darn quickly. I was thrilled to finally find one, though.

I'm so glad you checked back into LibraryThing! Thank you for taking the time to send me all that wonderful information. I'm going to have fun tracking down what books I can and seeing if I can find the movie anywhere. What talented people.

I've been spending time in my garden lately taking pictures of flowers and tsk-tsking over all the weeding I should be doing instead. :)
Hi, I notice you have a copy of Adrienne Segur's Snow Queen. I was wondering: is your copy a 2001 reprint or the 1961 version? I ask because I want to buy myself a copy, but I think I would prefer the more recent, 2001, version and yet I can find it absolutely nowhere, not a single used book store sells it. I have begun to suspect it was never published in 2001, but perhaps only intended to be published. It's hard for me to believe there aren't any used copies out there. So I thought I'd ask those on librarything who have one which copy they have. If no one has the 2001 version, it would make the case stronger and I would just order the older copy. Thanks for your help. Sorry to go on so long....Cindy
Oops, apparently I forgot to close my HTML tags, I'll do it here and hope it works. Sorry.
Hi, I am a 40 something, married Christian gal, living further north in California than you are. I was looking for a friend and found your profile with the tag about George & Helen Papashvily. My husband and I love their book, Anything Can Happen. I have re-read it several times. I just told a group, when they asked about what books would you take to an island if you were going to be stranded there, that among others that would be one, because it makes me laugh so much. I didn't know they wrote another book. Did you know them yourself? You also have another book which I did not expect to share with many, A Treasury of Grand Opera. I just finished reading this one. Enjoyed it very much. I am an opera beginner, the only one I've ever listened to has been Carmen. I plan to rectify that. Hope you are enjoying LibraryThing, I love it here.
