About meBorn in a rural Punjabi village in India (with no running water and electricity!), Neesha Meminger grew up in Toronto, Canada, and now lives and works in the mega urban metropolis of New York City. She writes stories of strong girls and women and the people they love.

Neesha's first novel, SHINE, COCONUT MOON, made the Smithsonian's list of Notable Books for Children in its debut year and was listed on the New York Public Library's Stuff for the Teen Age--Top 100 Books for Teens. The book was also nominated for the American Library Association's Best Books for Young Adults, and for the online CYBILS award.

Neesha's second novel, JAZZ IN LOVE, released to rave reviews in 2011 and was chosen as Best YA Novel by the Pennsylvania School Librarians' Association and was a Recommended Summer Read selection by BookSlut.

Into the Wise Dark, Neesha's third novel for young adults, has been a commercial and critical success, both in Canada and the U.S.
