I saw your review for Confessions of a Beauty Addict! Looks like a lot of fun. I'm going to have to check it out at the library. I recently read The Reason for Crows by Diane Glancy (an Early Reviewers book) and, although it was really short, it was really dense and a beautifully written book. Might give it a try!

Love your library! It's so eclectic! I work in a small antique shop and we recently bought a huge lot of old books, many of which are French. I was drooling over them....I think I'm going to have to learn the language....So many great books, I hate to limit myself to just the English language. : )

It's always been my dream to work in a library....

Yeah, I am looking forward to Getting the Girl. One of my girls has Alice, I Think. I did not know there were two sequels so we will will have to get them as well. I have four girls so I read a lot of middle school and YA fiction along with them or before them and then convince them that it is a great read. I am very lucky that all four girls have become voracious readers.

Well, this week is not going to work in the end, as I've got a project due on Monday that is turning out to be more time consuming that I expected. How about next Tuesday? I could meet you at lunchtime at PVM wherever you want.

Yeah, what's up with Shelf Awareness this month? I'm pretty sure both those books were on offer last month! (One of them was for sure because I considered requesting it and decided against it.) Have you had any of your reviews appear on their site? Mine hasn't yet.

Thanks Tina, for the info about HC! I was panicking about missing the deadline, but if they've been having trouble with their system, hopefully they'll forgive me. How did you get that email address?

Too bad our book tastes don't overlap more because we could get twice as many books out of HC!

I'm glad to hear you're finally getting books from Shelf Awareness; I just received my second one today, which I'm very excited about (and both the books I've received are hardcovers, not ARCs!).

How about meeting sometime next week? Let me know where and when; I work from home so I can basically meet you whenever suits you (unless I have something due on that day, but so far next week looks clear).

You'll probably see me review lots of her books as time goes on. My goal is to review all of my books, but I can only do a few at a time. I want them to be useful, you know? So, yeah. :)

Someday I'll get out to PEI, but it's probably not in the books for a few years yet.

Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I received your comment about Bikeman, however I have lent it to my boyfriend for the time being. I'm short on funds at the moment, but I will be moving in a few months and if you still want the book then, I'll see what I can do about getting it to you. I've just finished reading it, and it was incredibly moving (as I suspected it would be). I was able to finish it in a matter of hours, but I will probably go back with a pot of coffee and spend some quality time with it once it gets back to me. I'll keep you posted! -N

Ahh, I just read on your blog that you read "la Comtesse de Ségur" when you were a kid! So did I (I'm an anglo but I went to French elementary school). I've never met anyone else who's even heard of her! Do they really stand the test of time? Maybe we have more overlapping tastes than our libraries let on...

Hi, there's a special usergroup for reviewers, which I would add you to if you were joining the blog. then you'd be able to see a 'special access' forum. :)

However, as it says on the blog front page, my primary aim is to build up a resource of reviews.. the books that I'm able to offer are a bonus to that really.

How lucky to have met some of her family members! I haven't even been to PEI yet, though I'd love to go there someday.

I keep meaning to review the rest of the books. With the exception of Christmas with Anne I've read them all now; I had them all on the shelf for ages but never got around to reading them. I find I still love her writing as much as I did when I was a young teen. That's always nice to find. :)

I'm not very familiar with Blogspot but I imagine there's some mechanism to allow you to add a list of links. If you can do that, you should be able to add all of our blogs to that list. That's how I did it, but I use WordPress so it probably works a little bit different. If you can't find anything like that, I can see if I have a blogspot account and try to find it to give more specific instructions about it.

Thanks for the compliments about my blog; it hasn't been very active because I had little to no traffic so I kind of lost the will to continue there since I have other ones that I keep up, but now that we're doing this here where we'll essentially give each other morale to blog about books, I'm more likely to go on in the future. :)

Hi Shawn: Thanks for letting me know. I am sorry that I could not get the book, but I will keep a watch for others. PEI is far from EVERYWHERE - so you are absolutely right there! (beautiful place though).

Is emailing the person offering the book the best way to do it? or is it better to post directly on the site? I am pretty new and am not sure how to proceed.
