About meOne of those precocious early readers...from the moment I could carry a book, I could never be without one...loved the bookmobile in my town, especially in the summer. It would land at the park...a block from my house...a quick jaunt with my siblings or a fast Schwin Pink Lady bike trek to pick up as many books as I could carry...should mention I love to write as well and I grew up in one of those scenic all American small towns...parades for everything...all schools a block or two away...front porches with cozy gliders for long reads with lemonade, pop, ice tea and wind mill cookies...so, of course I grew up to be a teacher...where I could read stories and write... of course math and other things were included...for a living...writing on a whiteboard was one of my extreme pleasures...recently I just abandoned my teaching career to find myself...but there are about 500,000 books in my way...so I am reading my way to finding myself!!! I am loving every minute of it!!! I love, love, love to own books...the feel of them is mesmerizing to me...I just read about this site in the NYTimes and can't wait to start cataloging my books...thanks for listening...
About my libraryChock full of tons of mysteries, fiction, cookbooks, childrens books...I am trying to read out of my comfort zone...but my loves are English settings...and English writers...hate nonfiction, how to's, etc...love fantasy...that is a new one for me...just read The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters and that has opened up a new world of reading for me...I am on the waiting list for an Amazon Kindle...and it is killing me...I want it now...just thinking about not having to haul a 6 book minimum with me on trips is so freeing...
