Mudd alumnus. About my libraryI'm slowly gathering award winners from used book stores as a hobby, though at the moment my "to be read" shelf has gotten full so I'm ratcheting down the buying until I get more caught up. (I would happily buy books faster than I read them, but the "pleasure of ownership" isn't a sufficient justification for budgetary purposes - reading is necessary. Besides, I hate when someone looks at my shelf and says "Was this any good?" or "Oh - I love this book, did you enjoy it?", so I have to say "I haven't read it yet" and they silently, awkwardly move on.)
