About meI teach English for a living, and then sit around and write poems. Or I get up and pace, and then write poems. I've got two chapbooks and one full-length collection in print, and I show up in anthologies and litmags. This has resulted in some of my colleagues declaring me a "real poet," which disturbs me because I can't help picturing the alternative as an inflatable poet who stows neatly under the bed when not needed.
About my libraryI know that I have at least enough poetry to double-stack six large bookcases. The rest is everything from the wilderness-misadventure musings of Jon Krakauer, whose surname sounds to me like happy hour gone badly wrong, to natural history, to the odd mystery (the odder the better), to lots of the paperback fantasy and science fiction I grew up on, to cultural analysis of the Three Stooges.
