Collections include books, videos, DVDs, and sound recordings, which members may check out. We also have a large collection of non-circulating periodicals.
About my libraryWe are testing this "Library Thing" as an alternative to our public catalog. What do you think? This is only a fraction of our collection,(DVD's, videos, newsletters, newspapers, magazines, games etc not included here---just the books!) so if you're searching for an item please see our full catalog at http://www.quatrefoillibrary.org/, or call the library. 651.641.0969

Can you tell me more about your membership fees and charges to borrow materials? What are the fees?
We are a free lending library and don't won't start charging for checking out materials in the collection. That said, as we think about adding XXX adult DVD's we probably will charge for those. Since we don't have any adult DVDs we have to raise some money to purchase the items.
Did you get most of your XXX DVDs from donations or did you purchase them?
How much money do you make from check out charges? How much do you make from checking out XXX DVDs?
I am thinking of starting a "Friends Group" for supporting the Rare and Special Collections. Do you have a Friends Group? If so do you charge a membership fee? I'm having a Xmas Party Fund Raiser at my house for the Library. Attendees will automatically become members of the Friends Group (I think).
I'm going to be on http://www.outonline.com/ Wednesday at 11:00 est. Watch if you get a chance. Call in if you can.

I'm planning an LT party for the GLCC soon. Now that the wireless net is up in the new location I'm going to have people bring in their laptops and start loading the rest of the collection.

I was really glad when I started volunteering at the GLCC to find out that the GLCC uses the LC classification system for non-fiction materials. However it makes it difficult to class when we can't find copy cataloging in the LC database or on OCLC.
I'll pass these by one of the original catalogers at Pitt (there offices are just down the hall from mine) and see what they come up with.
This is the kind of question I hope we can solve on the GLBT Library group I created on LT. Thanks for joining. When you get the time, send info to any other GLBT library you know of about the GLBT Library group.
Thanks again for the books.

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans/Baton Rouge (I actually teach in the English Department at LSU). Anyway, I noticed your profile, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to read a novel I just completed. The manuscript is currently being circulated among some of the larger NY publishers, and my agent wants to get opinions from a few readers. Let me know if you'd be willing to read the manuscript and give us your opinions. Of course, if you're too busy, I'll understand. Just thought I'd ask:) I’ve included a summary below that we plan to include on the book jacket:
Dirty Little Angels
Set in New Orleans, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses’ lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses’ twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.
Thanks so much,
Chris Tusa
