About meI am the defacto librarian and former board chair of the RRCA. I am an aritst with a studio located in the RRCA, some sixty feet from the library.
The Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts is a non-profit community arts center in Millville, NJ. We have two galleries, additional exhibition space, a gift shop, classroom space and an art library.
Our main purpose is to promote art education through our year-round Art Creates Excellence (ACE) program for students from aged seven through eighteen.
The galleries present work of many artists from the Philadelphia and New Jersey area and often beyond. They also present, through the year, works of student artists from our ACE Program and from local K through 12 schools.
Grants from several organizations, individual donors and sales from the galleries and gift shop, keep us afloat.
We are fortunate in being a part of the growing Arts District of Millvlle.
About my libraryOur library is almost totally limited to the arts, Dewey 700 plus. All of our materials have been donated and we have no money to budget for either purchase of materials or staff. Therefore we are not a lending library.
Our stacks are open and currently serve the community, the local schools and the local Community College. We provide a copy machine free of charge for those who need to take certain materials with them.
The library is an ongoing process, with shelving being donated and put up. We now have over 700 volumes cataloged at LibraryThing, with at least 500 volumes in stock to be added to the catalog.
Donations of art books in good condition and help from people with library experience will be accepted with gratitude.
