About meI have a PhD in environmental microbiology. Currently I am a project scientist at the Joint Genome Institute where I am sequencing the genomes of microbes important in the rhizosphere (the area next to plant roots) and in bioremediation (bacteria that eat pollution). What little free time I have is devoted to reading, my two cats, and my large anime collection.

About my libraryMostly it is science fiction and fantasy, but there is a significant amount of mysteries, history, and science. My unread pile has grown dramatically in the last few years as my acquisitions have increased while my time for fun reading has greatly decreased due to graduate school.
