I uploaded a cover for this book if you are interested.
I have uploaded a cover for The Soldiers of London by R. Money Barnes
"Where is HST when we need him?" I'm still hoping he came back as a tall guy who taught Constitutional Law for 10 years.
This is a terrific book, read 30 years after publication. Afghanistan is not mentioned, but the end of the USSR and Warsaw Pact are spelled out as they happened over 10 years later. What is predicted is a Japan China Australia economic domination. Is this about to come to pass

What did you think of it
I just purchased a copy of Barbara Tuchman's A Distant Mirror from B&N. It's the 1978 edition (I see that you have the 1987 edition), but it was on sale for $10.98, and I couldn't pass it up. I especially enjoyed her Proud Tower, and had not read this one. Good reviews.
I am reading a book recommended by a friend: The Pagan nations of the Ancient British Isles: Their Nature and Legacy, but Ronald Hutton (a library copy). I will probably purchase it. It is dense, but very well researched. I'm learning a lot about the Celtic "tradition" that passes for "history" in our contemporary world. According to Hutton, much of it is not supported by any evidence. Even my favorite - the Mabinogian Legends from Wales - turn out to be a Medieval collection of tales from Greece and Rome! A lot of "New Age" stuff has nothing to do with the Celts, according to Hutton.

While it destroys some of the "fun", it also points out that we can be misled by lack of facts. Reading this book is a sobering experience. If you want an accurate account of "Celtic lore" (so-called) it's worth getting a copy. I'll probably buy a copy (it's available, but a bit expensive).
What about "The Craft of Intelligence" did you like or dislike? I am about to purchase the book and would love to read a review if you had the time to write one.
Hi Richard, thanks for connecting with me. You are a retired military man who despise warfare -- not surprising as even Sun Tzu advocated that winning without fighting is best. If you like The Art of War, please check out my new book, "The Art of War -- Spirituality for Conflict." It discusses effective strategies and peaceful conflict resolution, and missing over the years. Sincerely, Thomas
