About meI am a retired reporter, entertainment editor and book editor at The Indianapolis Star and will soon be writing a blog for the Star website. My new book, "World's Tallest Woman: The Giantess of Shelbyville High," is about my friend of 31 years, Sandy Allen, who passed away 8/13/08. It's a novel based on her experiences in high school in Shelbyville, Ind., quite a challenging time for her. I am available for book signings and talks, and I bring along several photos and a lifesize standee of Sandy. Quote from Sandy: "I like short people. I had three for lunch."

About my libraryI love novels, especially historical tales, and stories about small towns and their quirky characters. That's why I love anything that Fannie Flagg writes! I also have some celebrity bios and a extensive collection of books about people who are different (aka "freaks"), which became an interest when I met Sandy Allen. There are a lot of unusual and wonderful people out there!
