About me Highly educated: Ph.D. in Literature and History of Ideas, and J.D. in Criminal Law. Now retired from both careers.

I have 4 grown sons who live here, there, and everywhere, 4 grandchildren, and 4 dogs. I also have a husband, a Boomer, and a reader of mysteries.

I was an active liberal way back in my Hippy days; now I'm a happy housebound liberal, which suits me. Can't walk but dogs, husband, books, computer, and music keep me busy and happy.

I read slowly by choice and do most of my novel reading in bed at night when everyone else is asleep. I like to "suspend disbelief" and move into the world of the novel.

About my library Large and eclectic: literature (ancient to modern), history, law, dogs, myth, Judaism, and more. I have always bought my books and kept them; most are hard-cover. (I don't like libraries - too claustophobic.) I have multiple copies of many of the classic titles, usually different translations or litcrit introductions but I listed most of them once only and since so many of my books are too old for LibraryThing retrieval, I haven't bothered to search out the exact edition(s) I own.
