About meMy name is S. Kay Nash and I am a big ol’ gal from Texas. I’m a professional writer. I currently write grant proposals and presentations for a non-profit organization.

I was raised by a cabal of professors, anthropologists and librarians. People ask me where I grew up and I rattle off a list of universities, libraries and dig sites. My cultural experience is split between two sides. One side is a pack of Irish guys named William who seemed to be on the wrong side of every revolution, insurrection and war that came their way. The other side is steeped in thousands of years of surviving in the Great Basin.

I’m a nerd, an unapologetic gamer, cosplayer and bibliophile. The majority of my friends are people I've known for decades but have never seen in person. We met through various internet forums, blogs, online hangouts and game servers. Hell, even my SO ordered me off’a Yahoo.com. If it weren't for Facebook, I’d have 201 pets and 5 friends, instead of the other way around.

My first poem was published when I was 8 years old. I've managed to get a few more poems, book reviews and short stories published since then, and a few people have even paid me for the privilege. In 1996 I launched The Orphic Chronicle, an early webzine and one of the few paying markets for SF/F/H at that time. I kept it alive until 2000 when I had to let it go. I love to read, I like to review books and I don't pull many punches when I do.

About my libraryI'm 100% certain that I will never get all of my books scanned into this website. I have too many. I have managed to get two shelves of one of many bookcases entered so far.
